Per Jim Owens, the Mach 1 will be “very, very close to the GT500 on a short road course”

Now, I know Jim has said some... interesting... things in the past, but I can honestly believe this, and it gives me hope that Ford really put in work with the Mach 1 suspension tuning now that they aren’t worried about stepping on the GT350’s toes

How short of a track are we talking about here lol
I’d imagine something like Laguna Seca would suffice... as opposed to somewhere like VIR, where the GT500 would clearly have the advantage

Not too surprised they would be close (on a short course). The current PP2 pulls more cornering Gs than the GT350 because of the 305's on all 4 corners and then bump it to 480 HP, its getting closer to the GT350. On the same tires my lap times are equal to GT350s.

I'm certainly going to test that theory on the road.

So if you add a supercharger or twin turbo it you should really be talking.

Yeah, I mean a Miata can lap a Ferrari on the right course...
Actually not :D or maybe on a go-cart track.
How do I know, because I have one... and I wish I was referring to the Ferrari

Exactly, try challenging a Ferrari on that go-kart track.

I drove on a go-cartish type of track during the summer it was fun!

But on a track that don't have too long straights I would think Mach 1 could hold up pretty good.

Miata's are really cool. Unfortunately for me my only "behind the wheel" experience was to determine if I could even drive one. The steering wheel sits in between my legs, with my right knee hanging over the shifter. I also can't see straight ahead because my eyes are in line with the windshield frame.

hahahaha you are not 167cm as I am then I guess :D
For 2019+ you now at least have a telescopic steering wheel column
