The Curt and the draw tite are a bit different. I would say buy a Curt and then install whichever one will require less total destruction.

do you need to haul a trailer or could you use some type of small luggage carrier type rack?

According to the Curt website: " excluding Mach-1, Shelby, active exhaust, or quad exhaust tips". The Draw Tite at least said for cars with active exhaust, so I am guessing it is the better fitting solution of the two. Guessing being the key word, of course.

I kinda have that already with the suction cup roof rack and luggage box. Being able to haul a trailer is just the best option for a lot of applications.

Trailers are priceless I want one for dirtbikes
Exactly. If I could haul a small trailer, it really expands the usability of the car. If I want to go to a cabin in NC over the summer, I could haul two bikes and two kayaks for lots of activities with the Mrs. Then I have a sports car for the lovely mountain roads, rather than being stuck with my F250. And in theory I could tow the Mustang up behind the F250 and do all of the above, but then when I get there I need to park the trailer somewhere other than the cabin because road up the mountain is too tight for the car hauler. It just adds complexity over pulling around a small trailer with the Mustang.

Yes - I am absolutely sure. Before I acquired a trailer, I drove to many event with not only 4 wheels but lots of other stuff inside as well. I made a trip to Lincoln with 4x275/35/19s and then few trips around with 305/30/19 (slightly less space for other stuff). Key is to remove trunk floor piece and put one of the wheels in the space where spare sits in cars that have them.

There was a company called stealth hitch that made a really neatly hidden hitch receiver that part of it you could disconnect (which was even better for weight purposes) but they quickly gave up due to number of car / exhaust configs, never made anything for 18+.

Did the same when I got new rubber. 2 in the trunk, 1 back seat, 1 front seat.

It's totally doable to get 4 tires in the car, but things get tricky with the jack, air compressor, helmet, overnight bag, pop up tent, cooler, a couple chairs... You run out of room in a hurry. That and I own a tire trailer already, and all of that fits on the trailer with the tool box. Very little goes in the car.

I have a Seasucker roof rack gimmick, so in theory that's possible LOL. However, I also wanted to use my bike carrier, or have the option to tow a small trailer for my fishing kayak. The bike weighs 80 lbs (its a fat tire electric bike) and the kayak weighs 110 with all my gear, so loading either on top of the car is a recipe for disaster.
Trailers are expensive as usual, aren't they? What is the reasonable solution for transporting 2 kayaks or canoes atm? (this one is 15 ft and other is 11 ft for fishing)
Thanks in advance

You can get a basic trailer for under $1k. You would need to build it out for what you want to carry.

UPDATE. As a recap, I ordered the Draw-Tite part number 29428 for Mustangs with active exhaust. It does not bolt into the Mach 1 without trimming, but I with some messing about, it is installed and I am really happy with how it turned out. It is far less noticeable than I expected. No modification to the diff cooler was necessary. Some trimming on the diffuser was required, but fairly minor overall.

You're my hero because now I'll order one so I can carry my bikes with me. A little plastic trimming is nothing.

Could you post a shot like the top one, only from closer to the ground so we can see better what it looks like. I'd love to see what it looks like from underneath on a lift. What is it, about 15-20#s?
THANKS!

Hitch is 35 lbs

I'll second though, you can absolutely fit four 305 wide tires in the car. Three in the back seat, one in the trunk (and that's with back seats still installed). Does not work with roll bar though, hence the tire trailer

Well i am for sure doing this now that it’s confirmed to work. Not have enough trunk space was a minor concern, but if I can get a cheap utility trailer for home depot and hobby stuff it is a no brainer.
