I believe the Mach is limited to 168. The limit is set according to the rating of the tires...according to Ford.Think its 163 for the base, 166 for the HP, which is odd. Not sure why 3MPH matter. I also have not heard about the PPL2 having a different limiter than the GT or PPL1 but it should have more stability than the Bullitt which is 163 limited.
The whole limiter thing is an odd scam. We know a Bullitt can do over 170MPH. The Mach1 base, HP and GT PPL2 likely can all do the same.
So the bullitt and Mach1 tires have a 5mph rating different? That makes no sense either as the GT PP1 is rated lower than the Bullitt but have the same tires, and the PPL2 has much better tires, and aero but a lower MPH..I believe the Mach is limited to 168. Under Mechanical middle of page.
Take your crazy pills and buy a really good helmet.I need to get my non HP Mach 1 to go 170MPH. What must I do to achieve this?
That’s according to Jim Owens at Ford so take it for what’s it worth. If I can find the video where he said it I’ll post it. I believe he’s said it more than once.So the bullitt and Mach1 tires have a 5mph rating different? Good grief, when would you ever need or want to go 170MPH? These top speed discussions are head shakers at best.I need to get my non HP Mach 1 to go 170MPH. What must I do to achieve this?
Just being silly. I used to joke about my M3 being able to get me through the mid town tunnel in NYC first.Good grief, when would you ever need or want to go 170MPH? These top speed discussions are head shakers at best.
Good, glad to hear that. I cringe when I see guys posting about these 170, 180, etc. top end runs on highways. Pretty scary stuff.Just being silly. I used to joke about my M3 being able to get me through the mid town tunnel in NYC first.
When I was a silly kid, I rode a motorcycle on the Taconic State at 110MPH. Really amazing, really dumb, really lucky.Good, glad to hear that. I cringe when I see guys posting about these 170, 180, etc. top end runs on highways. Pretty scary stuff.
you can't go off of decades old drivetrain loss myths. Newer transmissions are way more efficient. This is 15% loss to rear wheels, makes no sense.
My 15 Dino’d at 407hp with a Steeda tune and intake
This is pathetic and I’m trading mine in tomorrow!
So why did he lose 15.5% to the rear wheels. This dyno can't be right.. Should be getting at least 435 to 440hp and over 400lb's of torque to the wheelsyou can't go off of decades old drivetrain loss myths. Newer transmissions are way more efficient.
They only rev'd it to mid 6000s due to the factory speed limiter in place. So why did he lose 15.5% to the rear wheels. This dyno can't be right.. Should be getting at least 435 to 440hp and over 400lb's of torque to the wheels
