Hi All

New member just signed up, previously on M3 Cutters which is an excellent forum full of down to earth peeps who are a really helpful & knowledgable lot.

Previously 15+ years of BMW loving and moving on from my E46 M3. However the E92 M3, M2 or M4 just dont seem to ring my bell.

Both myself and Mrs have agreed on a Mustang GT, so mission is now on to hunt down the perfect colour and spec.

Grabber Blue with a Manual gearbox hopefully so off to burn down your fourms search function to dig up info on this beast!

Cheers

I came from an '08 M3 with DCT.

Miss that car in some ways, but they are getting a bit old now for the earlier ones, and low mileage examples are priced high.

If I could have both, I would pick up another E92 but the sedan, for a family wagon.

Thanks Tim

Really wanted to fall in love with the E92 but it never happened and because of the rob bearing issue its hard to find one with low enough mileage that I want to roll the dice on. The newer beemers with the turbos have issues with the crank hub which I dont really want to worry about hence I started looking further afield.

Plus I'm in the UK where the Mustang is a pretty rare car so has far more road presence Imo! :)

I'm from Lancashire... relocated over here few years ago.

Had a TVR Griffith 500 alongside the M3, miss the British roads that's for sure.

Good luck on the Mustang hunt!

Welcome.

Seems to be a few BMW ex-fanboys joining! At least it's not Audi fanboys!

I had an E90 and E36 M3. And I was not sure whether to go for the M2 or Mustang - the Mustang just felt more special than a 2 series! Although the torque delivery in the E90 M3 and M2 (even E36 M3) is generally more dramatic than in the Mustang.

I'm a bit biased but think red is still the best colour and that it's a no cost option is a bonus. Next best colour for me would be veocity blue. Definitely go for black wheels!

I wouldn't choose anything but coupe manual.

They do look good, especially without the protruding Ford number plate holder! ;)

M2 was an anti climax for me considering all the hype of it being the "spiritual successor" to the E46 M3

I'm likely to be going for the pre-facelift as Im not too keen on the newer front end. Can someone explain what the main difference is with the Sync 2 and Sync 3?

Are there any "must haves"??

I had the E46 M3 and loved it but it wasn’t the car I always wanted.
I now have the car I always wanted lol

This genuinely made me laugh out loud. True story, I have to swerve multiple pit holes, sunken drains and broken road daily.
there's a corner near me (on a main road) that is that bad they've given up patching it up and its now just tarmac dust/gravel

Sync 2 is shite. Sync 3 has carplay and android auto which is all i use, Google maps works faultlessly exactly as u want and u can pick ur choice of music streamer (spotify, play music etc) and have it integrated into your screen.

So go for the 2017+ the one with the nipple on the roof. They also benefit from much cheaper road tax, ~ÂŁ145 vs ~ÂŁ560 roughly.

Heated/cooled seats is nice to have too.

There weren't really a lot of options on the pre-facelift so most seemed to be bought with the lot.

Theres a mint grabber blue with some nice tasteful mods i know for sale right now but it's automatic.

As above, Sync 3 is faster and allows Android Auto for Google Maps or Waze which are essential imo.

The 2017 models are pre-facelift, get Sync 3 and only ÂŁ140 road tax.

You could buy mine but it's a keeper!
