Economy?

Sent from my XT1095 using Tapatalk

Took me a second, I get it Eco is Economy LOL. I guess my Lund tune is good for economy as well, I get 30 - 32 mpg on the way to the track, better than stock. Lund is the man on the tuning, best thing I ever did was call UPR Steve and get the NGauge and all his other goodies. Turned my car into a monster.

Congratulations to there whole team !!!!

Didn't the "best" tuner say nitrous would do NOTHING for a stock turbo? Lol

For the majority of purposes it is. The stock turbo needs no help spooling, however you can still get power out of it, it's just not going to coming from that turbo. I suspect it was blowing nothing but hot air and the meth and nitrous were keeping it rational.

Feel free to try it on your stock turbo street car...

Great job this weekend Lund and the UPR squad!!!:first:

THE Best tuning allowed for this!!! We reset the stock turbo / motor record and now have the FIRST 10 second Stock motor / turbo Ecoboost Mustang.

I've been running nitrous on top of maxed out turbos for over 10 years. There will be no difference in air temperature, you're not working the turbo any harder. In fact you can back it down 10-20k rpm and not lose any appreciable performance. There is some cooling effect from the nitrous, but if you do the math on it, it's pretty small. Meth can do appreciable cooling though.

The thing most people leave out of the equation is the wastegate. If you let the WG do it's job, you can put 400 hp of nitrous through a 400 hp turbo with no issues. Technically around, not through, if you know what I mean. ;) As long as you have enough WG flow capacity. If you exceed it, boost and shaft speed will increase.

I don't know who made that comment about the stock turbo and nitrous, but it's clearly not correct. Congrats to those guys for trying it and going fast with it. And opening up the "stock turbo with nitrous" record category. :D

Congrats to UPR and Lund for a great win.

Quick question though - What the hell was Brad Gusler's setup to knock off a 10.73 @ 138 MPH? Or was that MPH a typo on the SVT forums?

I always said nitrous would help no matter what anyone said.... I've seen smaller turbos benefit from a nice shot with a spot on tune so not sure why our cars would be any different.
