So you really think the heavy GT500 is going to beat this hand built, cammed, tuned 1000hp motor, MagnaRide, 1LE package. All of this and get this at a Chevy dealer.

Really?? you obviously have been drinking.

Yes. The GT500 will destroy it. With the blower and everything else they put on that aftermarket car, it won't be as balanced as a GT500, and I'll be willing to bet a bone stock ZL1, non 1LE, will also kick it in the teeth.

I've never looked at the Yenko, but god damn is it ugly in the photos. The Camaro requires subtlety in aesthetic mods as to not look awful. I really think the SS 1LE is a good looking car, but even that is just a bad set of wheels and some stripes away from looking like shit.

I love "hand built", hahahaha, it's a production line Camaro with aftermarket parts, hell, the GT500 motor is "hand built". Warranty sure, but it's handled through SVE, i.e., it's just a turnkey aftermarket product, how does that work? Is my local dealer going to fix a supercharger tuning problem? Without any training or the correct equipment? Ship the car to SVE? Stage II isn't even emissions compliant!

Of course, they haven't had the benefit of massive engineering departments to determine aero effectiveness, there's no additional coolers, stock 1LE brakes, I'm sure with another 200lbs on the front end, they'll last past a lap.

Come on, this isn't even good trolling! Try harder! :cwl:

Performance aside, that Yenko is one ugly car. Honestly I would not want to drive one. Way too many stickers, ugly wheels, and too much badging. Who thought this was a good idea? Side by side vs a GT500 is like comparing Emily Ratajkowski (GT500) to Rosie O'Donnell (Yanko).

If GM does go with the LT5 in the ZLE, it is so much lighter than the GT500, the GT500 would not beat it. The ZLE would beat anything made in America, save for the Corvette.
Just a few facts: The A10 ZLE is 3,890 lbs. The GT500 CFTP is 4,060 lbs. 170 lbs difference.

Adding the LT5 to the ZL1 would increase the weight, due to: beefier trans., beefier drive train, likely bigger brakes (to take advantage of the extra speed), and more cooling required. Most likely, an LT5 powered ZLE would be 3,940 lbs. Swap the auto with a dual clutch and the weight would go up over 4,000 due to the DCT trans being heavier.

Anyone can go to a Chevy dealer and buy a Yenko Camaro with 1000hp with warranty now, and the GT500 could not touch that.

No waiting for a kickass Camaro that would bury the GT500

Car and Driver says SVE is only making 50 Yenko Camaros. So, not really anybody. And it is $70k on top of a SS 1LE.

yeah that blew my mind. 45k for the base car. 25k would have handily bought the blower, 8k for rotating assembly and another 2k in carbon hood and such and you still have 3k for labor. How on earth they think they are adding 70k of value is mind boggling.

Vinyl stickers and other badging is expensive.

It's definitely one those "sum of the parts ..." type propositions, I'd assume the manufacturer is adding a lot of value to the name/collectibility, and also some kind of hold-back for warranty.

It's still super silly, but consider the source:

I'm a huge Camaro fan, to the point that people on this forum call me a troll, but that Yanko is trying to lure customers with a name of days gone past. It's hideous. A stock ZL1 is a much better engineered vehicle in every way. A GT500 i would be willing to bet is also faster, even with a 240hp deficit.

That's funny, because it is actually a thing. Just a word of warning, don't ever ask for the Triple Yenko, I was sore for a week ...

He's right, we do ... but it's done out of love.
