The dealership just installed a new engine in my 22 GT & had me pick it up......I ask them if they were able to test/drive it to make sure there were no issues and got the "oh yes, for sure...".

I get about a mile away and the "low oil pressure" light comes on and stays on.

Back to the dealership it went.

At this point I have no faith that it will ever be right & have started the inquiry on a buy back or replacement but am just curious, is there something insignificant that could cause the low oil pressure issue after an engine change?

#1.....Oil pump not pumping.
#2.... No oil.
#3... Sensor faulty or bad connection.

Hopefully they made the mistake of only putting 8 quarts in....

The ironic thing about that is that my engine problems started a week after an oil change in November (I had about 8,000 miles on the car before that with no engine issues).

Having only 8 quarts will not make the low oil pressure light come on.

You want to make sure the oil sending unit is on tight and is functioning. There was a thing back in the day with mobil 1 oil being very thin and causing these lights to trigger so its possible the oil you had put in is just making the light react as well?
