Done some searching and didn't find anything specific to mounting a heat extractor in our stock hoods. Would like something GT350 style but with more opening. Not looking to spend a lot on Tiger or AC carbon hoods, not even 700-800 on fiberglass versions, if they are not a weight savings....

Has anyone put the 2010-2012 GT500 heat extractor piece in their hood? It seems like it has the same curvature and should fit ok on our hoods....

I measured the stock GT hood heat extractors (roughly 15x12). I'm thinking of trying to line the GT500 extractor with the leading edge of the stock extractors. I'm hoping that the GT500 one does not go back into the underhood horse/oval (would like to keep that intact and maybe paint it, but if it has to be sacrificed in the name of cooler temps...) Anyone able to roughly measure from the leading edge of the factory ones to the start of the oval?? (stuck at work for a couple more hrs).... thanks if you can!
