Hello everybody,

My name is Ken and I live in Manhattan. I own a 2013 Corvette Grand Sport which I am thinking of trading in to a dealership for a new '16 Shelby GT350, with the Track Pack option.

The dealer is suggesting a $3000 ADM, which seems fairly low given the ADM numbers I have been reading about as I researched the GT350.

Where is the market right now on a '16 GT350? Is a $3000 upcharge the best that can be expected, or should I continue to look. I should add that the dealer is local to me which makes things a lot easier.

Thanks,
Ken

Yes that's pretty good, but you could probably get lower, considering is a 2016 you could probably get msrp. I paid 5k adm for my track pack, but they gave me more on my trade in and I got a tax break. The gt350 is awesome, but what about the new Grand Sport, have you looked at that?

3K for NYC area is good if it has the options you want. The dealer local to me wants 20k over on a 2017(Though I never actually by my cars from dealers on the city). I ordered at MSRP but the dealer is 400 miles away

See if you can talk him down.

I have looked at the new C7 Grand Sport and it is a strong consideration. I have had Corvettes for the last 12 years.

On 3/27/12, the first day the order banks opened for the 2013 Shelby GT500, with the Trinity motor, I ordered one from Manhattan Ford for MSRP. As I followed the build process along, I got more and more uptight that I would no longer have a Corvette when the Shelby came in. Having one car in Manhattan is hard enough, two, forget it. Anyway, when the Shelby came in, I bailed on the deal. The dealer was happy, he sold the car the next day for $15,000 over MSRP. That same weekend, I purchased my 2013 Grand Sport.

But, I never got over the "What If", relative to completing the purchase of the Shelby. So, here I am again. I have researched the GT350 and it seems like a car I would really bond with.

Thanks,
Ken

ADM on a 2016 model these days? Your dealer needs to get real. You shouldn't have to negotiate down to MSRP - but that's my suggestion.

Model year doesn't matter. "GT350" on the window sticker does. Why do you think Boss 302's were being listed for $42K with 10,000 miles on them only 2 years ago which was a hair away from new MSRP? Oh and by the way, they were selling. Fast.

Boy, did I miss that boat. Now you'll find them all day long in the low 30s with the same mileage.

I wouldn't pay over MRSP right now for a 2016 GT350. There are enough dealers around the country already selling them at MRSP. Besides that, on the auction sites you see that even selling them at MRSP is becoming challenging.

Do it. See if you can knock some of the ADM off or get stripes thrown in or something. I was going to go with a C7 Z51 Pack if I couldn't get the 350 so I know the feeling.

I picked up my '13 Boss for sticker, in October of 2012, so it may be finding the right dealer as we're now realizing.

Talk about cannibalism. Considering how you can mod a base S197 Coyote with the Brembo Pack or Track Pack, it's kinda not worth it unless you just want a Boss.

Dealers are ready for msrp deals on 2016 350s. We had a few leads recently on here posted by helpful members. Ask for it and see what he says. Unless it is the color/options combo you want close to you I wouldn't sweat it too much. Still plenty of 16 out there sitting.

Still a better deal than good ol CA and at least you won't have to pay for shipping. Shipping is around $1500 depends on how and who but at least the car is right there in front of you. Good luck.

You don’t want to know
You guys who don't own a GT 350 and say MSRP is the way to go on a '16 need to get into the marketplace and see what's happening for real. Yes, there are MSRP deals out there, but the majority of dealers are still asking for $5K to $10K ADMs. However, it's been a couple of months since I've seen a reported sale for more than $5K over MSRP. $3K is a good number in that market, but there's no reason not to push the dealer lower. Drop your checkbook on the desk in front of your salesperson and tell him you're ready to make a deal at $1K over.

After you make the deal, post a picture of the big, stupid grin on your face when you open up the exhaust and roar through the concrete canyon!

What Spa said. The # they gave you is good for our area and if you don't want to deal with the hassle of searching for a lower price.

Tell'em MSRP and you'll buy it on the spot. If they push back than add 1-1.5k and be ready to walk. If you get that then you did well.

EDIT: check out this thread for maybe MSRP http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60358
