Long Tube Header Primary Size???

What size long tube headers would you guys recommend for a stock gt500? Are stock power levels high enough to warrant 2 inch primaries over the 1 7/8 inch?

What about with 800-900 whp???
What about with 1000+ whp???

is there any situation in which a 2 inch header would be worse than 1 7/8 inch?

You’ll be fine with either. Unless you plan to build to 1000hp+, stick with the 1 7/8” primary 3” collector.

If your buying and doing the work, with no negatives, go as big as you can.. thats what I was told.

My kooks have done fabulous obviosuly, but i really think the ARH have a nice sweep to them. but you will need the motor mounts too

This is basically true. The collector size is actually more important and the primary just needs to not restrict the exhaust port.
Think of it as trying to funnel the energy/airflow into the turbine.
