Wheels and tires forum seemed like the closest match for this question.
Looking for opinions on which is better for wheel security: One locking lug nut per wheel with an internal pattern or all lugs nuts with external pattern?
I understand the latter is defeatable by hammering a socket onto the lug nut so obviously having 5 per wheel will slow that down.
But I don't understand the comparable difficulty in defeating the internal pattern nuts, the ones that are smooth cylinders with a recessed pattern cut into the center.
So I guess it comes down to does it take 5 times longer to defeat one of that type vs 5 of the external pattern nuts?
Or is there another type even better than either of these?
