Can't wait for people to use line lock at the track on their factory street tires and realize that the car just launches worse than if you avoid the burnout box/burnout altogether.
^^ This. With street tires I go around the burnout box. You get your best 60' that way. And don't dump the clutch.. a quick yet steady release and no full throttle off the tree.

I might be wrong Fords has the first car from the factory with line lock somebody let me know. That's pretty cool to have that on the ecoboost

*Yawn* Useless gimmick. Ford at it again with their nonsense marketing, they pulled this BS back when the S550 first debut, too. We want more info about horse power numbers, and maybe unmask the mystery car you've been showing us staged "spy shots" of for the last 2 years.
Damn your BUTT must really Hurt

Hmm....our track requires cars to pull around and back into the water box. This gives them a chance to keep drivers (on street tires) out of the water.

Ya. Not our stupid track here in RVA. Sometimes they leave enough room on the left lane to get around but not much. And they have tiny gravel all out in the main parking area that gets carried over into the staging lane area. Nice having that shit stuck in your tires just before you drag race.

Oh FORD, enough with the stupid Race drivers promoting stupidity. The damn. Ar doesn't need a dumb horse heart beat and line lick on Ecoboost models. It needs bright, ACTUAL daylight visible DRL LED's, and 340 hp/340 tq in tne heavier than ever Ecoboost, pushing a 2013 GT's curb weight of 3625 lbs. And, the GT needs at least 470 hp/445 tq, with gear options: 3.08, 3.15, 3.27, 3.31, 3.55 and 3.73. The stick should offer: 3.27, 3.55 and 3.73, while the auto: 3.08, 3.15, 3.27 and 3.55's.... Especially since the auto has a very different gear layout. Seems, Ford is going the Dodge route of Big, Fat, heavy.

Line lock is kind of a dumb feature. I'd rather have something more useful for the money like across the board sport mode selection instead of it only being in premium trim. A mean really, a feature that voids the warranty as soon as you use it? Why have it it all?

3.08 would be a dog and is the reason it's not offered. I don't think 3.27 is an actual possible gear set for the super 8.8 and would be so close to the 3.31 it would be pointless. Do you have any idea how automotive manufacturing complexity works? Your weight comparison is only partially valid, also. A base EB tips in at under 3500 lbs and a full loaded one, with the heavy 20" wheels, and subwoofer is just over 3600. The S197 GT at 3625 was the base, bare bones car.

It's only dumb if you never plan on going to the drag strip. Having been down the 1/4 mile many times in previous cars, I think it's a handy option.

And using it doesn't void the warranty in any shape or form by the way.
