I had Whipple Gen 2 made 701/545 on pump 91

Switched to Gen 3 Whipple Lund tune E85 3.25 850-880ish then went boom

Now new motor getting built by Will at RPG racing engines

yes I do. Motor was on borrowed time w boost. Lifted both head gaskets and burnt the top of the block per engine builder

How long did it last you on 850+ whp? And did you beat on it a lot?

Most engine failures occur because the ring gap on the stock bottom end is too tight for boosted applications. Long pulls with 93 is likely to generate enough heat to cause the ring gap to close up and break the piston. Shorter pulls and e85 avoid the heat build up and are safer on the stock bottom end.

As a reference, my car made 1,000hp many times on e85 and short dyno show off pulls. My car also bust a ring at 7psi during a 100 degree Texas trackday during a 20min session.

It’s not the power, its the heat generated

I’ve been running 10 oz or boostane with 93 and a small shot of meth 50/50 making 790 wheel. I’m now running 16 oz boostane (half can) each tank for added safety as fuel has been shitty lately. Boostane in every tank for 2 years now.

If you have the right tune and fuel 800whp is not a problem. E85 or water/meth can make a big difference
