Lightweight (42 Pounds!) Watson 4 point Roll Cage Group Buy

I already have a Watson 4 pt cage. I want a lighter weight version of the same thing.. save 20 pounds or so. It would make it worthwhile. As for the other brand cage, the attachment points are not the most structurally sound. For me, it's Watson or nothing.

You are all set. The one criticism I have with the GT350/GT350R is that Ford should had installed factory provisions for the rear bar in the trunk. Less room for error during installation and it would set the standard for cage manufacturers. it would not cost much to add the necessary pre-installed mounts for the bolts - threaded holes with reinforcement.

I spoke to Watson Racing again today. I stressed the point of fabricating the lightest weight 4pt roll cage possible while still keeping an eye on the bottom line. I expect to hear back from him tomorrow with approximate weights, cost, and lead times. More tomorrow I hope. It was relayed to me that this special production cage probably wouldn't exceed the cost of a standard 4pt roll cage. I asked if it was possible to keep it at or near 50#.

None at this point. The way it was described to me was that engineering and estimates have to review. I'll follow up again tomorrow.

I just got off the phone with Watson.....
The cages came in very light at about 50# with all cromolly construction. Pricing is directly in between the standard 4 pt cage ($1,000) and the 6pt cromolly cage ($1,500).

The cost is $1250 and if you need it shipped, they will charge for that (I was told about $175 depending on where.
