Just hoping someone else has installed a Deka ETX18L in their S550 and knows the best method for hold down. The Deka battery does not have the indent along the bottom to work with the factory mount. I started trying to rig something up with a hold down made for a regular battery but found my self making it really hokey. I don't want to wedge in wood blocks or foam or any bs like that. I would like to find a hold down with tray that will not weigh very much (obviously since that will defeat the purpose of the bat in the first place) but look and fit like its supposed to be there. The dimensions of the battery are 8.12 long, 3.56 deep, and 6.37 tall. I have been searching other threads and around the internet and haven't found anything yet. A couple custom motorcycle battery hold downs might work but are made from welded metal and I'm sure they will weigh enough to eat up a good bit of weight savings. Starting to think this was a bad idea. 18lbs for all this trouble.:frusty:

I mean.

Honestly. I just attached the battery to the terminals....and let the force keep it in place, and forgot all about strapping it down. lol.

Of course, I am not battery mounting engineer.....but havent had an issue with the same batteries on my racecar, nor my street/track car.

You can twist the battery to where it sits flat, and also puts opposing forces on the cables. Its pretty snug in there, on mine anyways.

Pretty sure the track tech may not like battery loose. LOL! I understand a lot of tracks are lax about this but I would prefer to have it held in place. Thanks for the link, that would certainly be an inexpensive and light weight option if I can't find something a little more factory looking!
