Does anyone know of a decent product or a good way to mount the front license plate? I obviously told the dealer not to use the stock bumper mount. I was trying to come up with something, but I'm not having much luck. I know they make retractable mounts, but I have heard bad things about them... like they tear off at moderate speeds... any ideas would be awesome. Thanks

It looks like people like the Sto N Sho here. Maybe I'll give it a try.

I'm going to make my own... give me another thing to tinker with as she sits in the garage this winter.

For sure. I was thinking about doing that as well, but I'm still driving mine throughout the winter (on nice, dry and salt free days)... so I'm looking for a quicker solution.

Sweet another local.. I'm in Schaumburg! I'll have the Sto 'n' Go bracket this week so we'll see how it is. I'm realizing now that the sto n go blocks the air going into the IC though which I'm not liking soo much but we'll see. I may be able to mount it offset.

Cool :-) What's up neighbor? I was wondering about that too. I'm starting to think I will have to drill the bumper or the more likely scenario...live without it and deal with the tickets. Let me know what you figure out. I'm still trying to come up with alternatives as well.

Doing well. I'm going to have to run a plate as cops will drive around here and look for cars that don't have plates.

Craig's is the way to go and the 15 bracket is out!

if I don't like the sto n go I'll sell it and pick this up instead. you can mount this offset with no problem but I kind of don't like mounting it up high. Man I hate having to run a plate.

Yeah, I know... Front plates are just dumb. I have two cop buddies and they both said that it's more of a convenience when writing parking tickets than anything else. Another friend of mine doesn't have a front plate. He says he almost never has a problem and it gives the cops something to write a ticket for instead of speeding when he gets pulled over. I don't think I would ever get that lucky. I would just get two tickets!

I had already gotten a Sto N Sho before I saw this Craig's one, but I think if I had to choose the part of the front to cover up with a plate, the lower edge with the Sto N Sho or the middle part with Craig's, I'd still go with the Sto N Sho. Plus, it doesn't touch any of the painted bumper at all.

i used the sto n sho or whatever its called..
works well and only 1 hole to drill....
i tried some of the other brands but none worked as well...
just make sure you get the right one for your car.
the PP cars take a diff piece than the non-PP
