People do need to be aware of the fact that the 98Y tire is a 98 in Standard Load, while the 102Y is an XL tire. The rated load vs inflation pressure tables for both of those sizes are identical up to 36 psi, where the SL table stops. XL only gains load capacity for pressures beyond 36.I know a couple of the PNW guys have moved to the Porsche spec tire because it's a 102Y vs. the OEM 98Y, so theoretically it should be better at handling heavy loads. According to what I've heard, they're getting 7+ days out of them. I'll @CSL add more info. He's also trying a set of 315s squared next, so he can provide data there.
34# cold would put you hot at what? I think the manufactures limit was like 37 or 38# but I can not seem to find the document anymore.I run the N spec tires on my GT350 295/325. They have 9 track days and still have 3/32" tread remaining. 40 years racing/30 years teaching. I use the recommended track alignment and 34# cold pressure. I'm usually at 1.3 g turn limit and 1.2 braking. Videos posted elsewhere.
I've learned tire temps/pressures are really variable. I've driven with Randy and my mind truly can't figure out how he drives like with high tire pressures and gets so many days out of his tires. The dude is very quick.34 cold would put me north of 40 hot on Mid Ohio. That's absolutely not ideal...
I don't disagree with what you've posted. With that said, unusual recommendations such as 34 cold should come with qualifiers such as those you stated.I've learned tire temps/pressures are really variable. I've driven with Randy and my mind truly can't figure out how he drives like with high tire pressures and gets so many days out of his tires. The dude is very quick.
But, what works in the PNW does not work in CA, Texas, or GA from my experience. There are lots of variables that need to be considered.

A new brand of tire made for the GT350 and the GT350R along with some othersI'm assuming you just mean the cup 2's in non r gt350 sizes? Or a new brand/tire alltogether?
US, European or Japanese company?A new brand of tire made for the GT350 and the GT350R along with some others
