3/4 rotor for higher up power and efficiency. hmm. low end torque internet broken. Don't get all twisted just yet I'm sure it will still make great low end power, just better gains up top where the coyote shines brightest. Cool stuff Whipple.
Being better at high rpm doesn't mean it's not good down low, it makes a ton of torque. Check out the graphs. http://www.fordnxt.com/features/sema-coverage/sema-2017-3-0-liter-whipple-gen-5-2018-coyote-blower/

Gen 3 has been making massive gains.
Yes, but is it as efficient as this new upside-down beastie? I like the whole idea of it running cooler....

Better Article.....

Someone explain why this wont fit on a Gen2 Coyote in the 2015-2017 Mustang.

Seems it would be way better option to go for the Gen5 3.0 Whipple rather than put a Gen2 or Gen3 2.9 on a 2015-2017.

Im not concerned with the tuning or if whipple has 3.0 Gen5 calibration for a 2015-2017. Other tuners can handle that.

Does it fit?
It physically bolts to the engine.

It requires new air intake system and some other parts to make it cross compatible. We currently have no plans to offer it for the 11-17 models.

If it fits it would seem insane to not offer it and make it backwards compatible.

Intake is pretty minor imo.

Sort of a black eye for those that have a 2.9 gen2 or gen3 knowing Whipple makes a Gen5 3.0 that fits but wont support it.

It's all investment, it's not minor. We have plenty of updates coming for the 11-17 models so it's not the direction we are going.

The rotor group is more efficient. But were not done with the 11-17, we've got more coming....
So you're saying I should order the Gen 3 now?
