Mods:
Drop in air filter
Steeda IRS Braces
Steeda IRS Alignment kit
Steeda IRS bushing support
Steeda trans mount insert
Nitto NT555R drag radials 275/40/R17

Left lane car 25. Cool night with really good DA. Launched around 3k and had tire spin through first gear. Switched to MT ET Street R which dead hooked but I never got my launch down. The track closed in 2021 I think so never got a chance to run it with the Ford Performance calibration.

Wow, that’s a great run! What gear did you trap in (3rd or 4th)? 3.73 gear? What power adder and how much power were you putting down to the ground? Thanks

I trapped in 4th gear. 3.55 gears and no power adders. Only engine mods at that time were a AFE drop in filter and Magnaflow Tru-X resonator. I never dyno'd the car.

Gotcha! I was blown away by the MPH that you put up in the 1/4 and assumed that you were running a power adder. You definitely have a fast car. You’re where I was hoping to be with mine, but so far, it has been difficult to achieve.

Man you are moving ! That's a great run. I also trap in 4th with my 3.55s.

I don’t know how you guys are trapping in 4th with 3.55s. Are you guys short-shifting? I trap in 3rd at about 7130 rpm. I have short-shifted to 4th many times, but when I do, I only have about 75-100 ft before the stripe and it does more harm than good to the ET and MPH, therefore, I usually run 3rd out.

Now, when I spray nitrous out of the hole, I may find shifting to 4th to be both necessary and very beneficial.

@stang1087 my bad, somehow, I glossed over the fact that you said you were in the left lane. I put you in the right lane on your timeslip, lol. Maybe I want to hit 10s so badly, that, that’s all I can see, haha!

Thanks for starting thread, it’s good to compare notes and see what others are doing. I genuinely track the car but a good drag is awesome and has its own challenges. My first run with the car was in 2022 (First pic Left Lane) and it was a bone stock PP1 with the heavy original wheels running 93.

Why make another list? Current list has a transmission column.

Just easier to sort through info. in a thread format. I’ve looked at the current list and I have to scroll left and right and up and down like a typewriter, in order to see all of the info. In addition, this thread will also give us a chance to converse back and forth about what the different D4 users are doing to accomplish good results.

You do raise a good point, in that a new list isn’t really necessary. The info. can just be posted in this thread. I’ll
edit the subject title to say “thread” instead.

Not to take anything away from MT82 cars, as those guys don’t have the same struggles to get from point A to B.
Long story short, we D4 guys want to be just like the MT82 guys when we grow up, lol.

But you have 25 more horsepower, higher rev limiter, and No Lift Shift from the factory compared to 15-17. Also don't need to shift into fourth gear. You should actually be quicker in the quarter mile. Better clutch too.

If only it were that easy. I don’t know of anyone with a Gen. 3 that is running numbers comparable to those of a Gen 2. car. The extra 25 hp from a Gen. 3 is still not enough to do it. IMO, it takes much better gearing to be able to run like a Gen. 2. I just talked to a guy with a Gen. 2, who went to the track last night and he reported that he ran an 11.43 on a 1.6 short time, but says he has been even quicker in the past.

If there are Gen. 3 owners pulling off similar times NA, I would love to hear more about their setups and how they’re able to accomplish it.

I do have NLS, courtesy of an N2MB Wot Box, but I’ve only used it a few times because I don’t want to risk tearing up the tranny, as expensive as it was for me to build it.

I ram across this video of Lethal Performance’s 2024 Whipple powered MT82-D4 car (making 833 rwhp and 630 rwtq) and thought I’d add it to this thread. Their best ET was a 10.68 @ 135 with a 1.9 sixty.

Obviously, the car is making enough power to produce a quicker ET, but it goes to show that they too were struggling to run their best numbers. I look forward to seeing what they can do with this car in the near future.

It’s crazy seeing all the mt82 cars running 13s. I have one, a 2019 it’s stock with catback and wheels. I also have a 2v 4.6 with a 5 speed. when it was making 280hp I was running 13.4-13.5 on cheap hard as a rock street tires.
My 19’ gt “feels” much faster lol, now I’m realizing it’s slow
