I Am in the process of setting up the garage in our new house as my man cave/shop area. I live in Florida and was thinking of ways to get things off of the floor since storage space is limited without a basement. Having said thst, I have a set of LTHs that I would like to hang on one of my walls as Wall Art. Has anyone ever done this before? If so, would you please post pics and share any tips on how you hung them?

At your local home improvement store they sell rubber coated hooks, that you'd hang extention cords, a bike, ect on. they screw into the wall studs. They are cheap.
I don't like hanging anything with any weight with drywall ankers of any type.
My garage the studs are 16" on center. many newer ones are 24" on center. 16" on center u might get to use the header flange to bolt them to the wall with studs that have wood thread on one end and machine thread on the other, and a nut.
Buy a stud finder and not the cheapest one. They are worth it.

Good info. I do have a really good stud finder. I was thinking of trying to find some open real estate on the cinder block portions of my garage walls to hang the LTHs, as I would like to spare the one Sheetrock wall to mount my signs and other lightweight art with drywall anchors.

Wow! There must be at least 500 or more Hot Wheels hanging there. What’s the oldest year and model that you have up there? My son used to collect them from about age 3, until his early teens. We currently have a box full of a couple hundred unopened HWs of his In our garage LOL! I’d sure love for him to come and collect them some day soon. Haha!

Love your hot wheels wall paper !! I have questions ,how long have you been collecting ,how many fights did you get into at Wal-Mart over treasure hunts. how bad did it hurt your collection obsession when toys r and Kmart closed up . Did you ever get the chance to get the KB toy store cop rods?. and from years 95 to now what the most valuable one? The mustang blocking my view is pretty awesome by the way.

Yessir! I like the fact that it is functional and customized to your liking. It makes working in the garage much more enjoyable IMO.

For reference, here are some pics of the LTHs and mid pipe that I’d like to mount on the wall.

Other than some really heavy duty shelving, this is the only thing mounted on my garage wall :

Did you have to use Tapcons to mount everything to your block walls?

Standard Rawlplugs in the brick with stainless hardware.

The pictures are on stainless nails in the mortar lines.

Hope that helps :like:
