This was my newest piece of a garage art, a 2023 Christmas gift from my wife.

Old school original FMS metal license plate…. A rarity these days to find them in half decent shape. It has nice patina too.

There’s replicas that are way less but are just silk screened embossed flat tin metal; I like the original Ford stuff that is actually from the period… Not to mention I’ve owned more 86-93 Mustangs than any other so it goes great with my 93.

I had a lot more posters and banners, all my old license plates, etc...This was after we took all the personal stuff down and was selling the old house.

The 6' sign was a 2 piece, still in the box and unopened from 1995. I thought that was super cool. In hindsight, I should have taken the signs with me but I didn't want to do the work to get the signs down and repair the wall...

Yep. The Ford Motorsport replicas are not stamped/embossed like ours and don’t have the Scioto copyright.

😲

I had absolutely no idea these were worth any kind of money. It's literally been riding around the top of my rollaway haphazardly for quite some time lol

Now I have to guard it with my life to make sure it doesn't get scratched or bent!
LOL!!

Yea, the original FMS plates in great shape are $200+. I’ve seen them in bent/poor condition (if some like more “patina”) still command upwards of $100.

I cruise eBay a lot looking for things - and never realized that many dealership and specialty plates are highly collectible to the right crowds.

I have an original 1964 NY Worlds Fair plate which is when the Mustang made its debut. Those plates in mint shape are $$$$. The one I have is aged nicely but I also wanted one like that which shows true aging/use, not a mint one. Those are on eBay every so often and they make for good garage art display item for Mustang Enthusiasts..

That's what I was seeing, although I didn't look at completed auctions. Mine is MINT. I'm still in shock lmao

At work, we sell wall art on consignment by a local artist, basically his retirement hobby. He uses reclaimed timber and metal to create quite unique pieces, most of them being of birds, native animals, farm scenery ect. His latest creation instantly caught my eye, apparently my red Mustang caught his too........................

He is also quite clever in some on the fine details, think opening doors or spinning windmills. In this case, the rear-view mirrors are actually reflective. While the frontal proportion is not quite right but check out the rear profile in how it perfectly depicts the S550. I'm told it took 5 coats of red to be as shiny as my real Mustang.

This is what I want for my garage, but with walls full of shelves, tools for vehicles, home, and garden, I'm not sure I can fit it. The small remaining wall space next to my wife's Fusion is a stretch for a smaller one. She likes the Mustang so she'll probably not mind.

Have any of you purchased it? If so, are you pleased with the quality?

I'm including the link for those who may have wall space and are interested.

I’ve been eyeing those as well but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
