Id much rather see a set of ITBs on a GT350 and let that engine rev to the moon even faster before it ever got a blower kit!!

Im kind of surprised no one has put a ITB kit on one yet that I know of anyways.

Yes they are expensive but people spend 5 figures on turbo kits so I dont get it ITBs on a GT350 would be insane on that engine.
Id love to see that.

Someone needs to call up Borla. They make ITB's for the 'Yote but yes, VERY expensive. Very...very...expensive.

If Ford/Roush got 700HP out of their new bolt on 2.65L TVS for the 2018 5.0 (which has PDI) then I'm sure Ford can get 750HP+ out of the GT500.

This thing will probably start at $68k and be $80k loaded up.

I don’t think they’ll have a problem getting 750-800 hp however I do think it’ll start at 70k minimum. A 350R is 65k, if it’s what we hear I think it’ll be far more then a 5k increase, probably start closer to 75k but the performance sounds to fair for the price. Sure hope they class up that interior a bit for that price

I feel like the GT350 has a LOT more R&D into it propping up the price than the GT500 does. It's not a FPC, so they could just take a lot more lessons learned from the GT and GT350 and apply them.

I'm still confused as to why Ford developed the FPC just to use it for only 15-18 GT350. That seems like a large money sink instead of just using a 5.2L CPC based on the 5.0.

The 5.8L also has more in common with the 5.4L design than the FPC does with the 5.0. The 5.8 is is different engine, but they started by looking at the 5.4L and improving on it. The FPC was mostly ground up.

At first I thought that, but now look how long the gt500 development has been going. Also they only had to tune and test a manual, as we all believe this is going to have both a manual and either A10 or Dct so more tuner and testing. Unfortunately I think you’ll see at least a 7-10k premium over the 350r.

I thought the GT350 was going to run along side it for a higher price point.
Last GT500 was 70K loaded up with track pack and glass roof. I'd expect this to run in the 75 to 83K loaded. Now, that depends on if we actually really get a DCT with CC brakes. If there is a race version of this car, I'd expect it to be in the 90's. If there isn't I think it tops out around around 83. I was thinking we would have a PP2 for 55K, a GT350 for 60 to 67K and a GT500 for 80-90K but if the 350 isn't in the picture, there will be a huge gap in there. Maybe I'm wrong and the thing will run in the low 70's to start, topping out at 80K. If you want the good stuff in it, be prepared to spread the wallet open even further.
From the sound of it, we'll know in 2 weeks and hopefully a price not long after.

Correct. 5.8 was basically a 5.4 with a bigger bore, with subtle improvements elsewhere.

the 5,2 fpc and cpc will be very similar as well. the less you have to change, the more profitable that the program can be.

I am curious if the gt350 will live on. That will help determine the price point.

The 5.2 has just as much in common with the 5.0 as the 5.8 did with the 5.4 engine. The 5.8 was renovated ground up, just the same. Block, heads, crank, rods, pistons, gaskets, support hardware, etc, was all changed on the 5.8 and again, it only saw 2 years.

Renovated, not built from scratch. There is a difference in updating everything vs building it from scratch.

5.2L Voodoo and, presumably, “Predator,” are based on the 5.0L Coyote. Voodoo has a larger bore diameter than the 2011-17 (92.2mm) and 2018 5.0L (93mm), though. The 100mm bore spacing is the same between the 5.2 and 5.0L as are a host of other features.

Lol. The 5.2 was not built from scratch.
