Hey guys, I just traded in my 2017 GT350 and picked up a new 2019 model!

I'm switching out the stock Michelin Cup 2s for the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I want to save the Cup 2s for the track.

My one concern: the sidewall stiffness is different on the Super Sports. On the Cup 2s the stiffness is 104Y (front) and 106Y (rear) while the Super Sports's are 100Y (front) and 102Y (rear). Will this sidewall firmness difference affect handling/performance? I just want to be sure I'm not seriously screwing my handling before pulling the trigger on the Super Sports. :)

Thanks for any help you can provide! :)

You will notice a slightly better ride and very little degradation in cornering power. As far as the street goes, you are making a wise decision. Many on this forum and in real life change out the Cup 2 tires for a better street tire for daily driving.

I still have cup 2’s on my 2019 and DD - these tires pick up every minut speck of dust dirt gravel - make sure to get front rock guards - I plan to change tires out ASAP.

Completely agree with proeagles. For the street the MPSS is superior to PSC2. PSC2 is good on track for about 2-3 days depending on driving style/# of sessions then they fall off quicker than any other track tire I’ve driven on. One trick pony the Ford spec. PSC2. Use em up and throw-’em in the trash.

I picked up Hankook Ventus V12 EVO2s for daily driving on my SV502s. A couple of the other tires were on back order. I have been quite happy with them, and couldn't beat less than $1k for a set of 4 tires. Went with 305/30/19 front and 325/30/19 rear.

My brother had experience with the contentinals and were good, but they were out of stock when I ordered, because that was what I was looking at first. I have the cup2s on my oem cf wheels and plan to keep them that way. Maybe when they wear out I'll look at MPS4s...
