I just popped down to Monterey to do back-to-back test drives of a GT4 at Porsche Monterey and a GT350 at Gold Star GMC. When I was at Porsche Monterey this GT350R was there - anyone on here?

GT4 718 with PDK is a blast to drive, the 350 was a fun car. But the GT4 is on a different level in a few different categories & the dang ceramic brakes are $$ when the time comes. I didnā€™t appreciate the 350 until I tracked it. If you get bored with the 350 check out the GT4RS coming.

I could see a 718 GT4 6MT being my next fun car. It may seem silly but I struggled to get my head around using the 981 GT4 for any daily driving given the archaic PCM 3.1 headunit, lack of CarPlay, lack of backup camera or parking sensors, etc. I know, it's a street-legal race car, but I'd still like to have that stuff. When the 718 GT4 dips into the $80Ks or $90Ks I will take a serious look.

Just took it down Skyline Blvd in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Wow. Incredible grip. I'm also lucky the sheriff didn't track me by sound.

After meeting up with @ralphy1798 to buy his Xingineering auto blip module, I took the new car on a second epic Bay Area drive today: Mines Rd to Lick Observatory today. A Bay Area roads guide on Rennlist says "many people rave about this road" - you can count me as one of those people. Wow! A thousand curves and 6500' of elevation changes in each direction. You've got to be careful on various one lane sections with blind curves and about a dozen cattle grates but it's a really rewarding drive. The GT350 is definitely more capable than I am skilled. Even so, I was able to get back to Livermore in 1:15 versus Google's estimate of 1:42 šŸ˜Ž

Congrats. The car is unbelievable and it'll put a smile on your face every time you get into it. It never gets old.

Enjoy the ride!

You will not get tired of the Flat-Planed Crank Symphony... I have both, a GT350 & a 718 Cayman. If the Cayman was a GT4, it would be very tough to pick a favorite. With the vehicles I currently have, I like the GT350 better due to the exhaust note..... I swear it sounds like Chewbacca gargling.

Endcapped this first weekend with some autocross! Now time to put the car away until next weekend at Thunderhill.

I wasn't the only GT350 there...
