Spare Crate engine or a Spare set of Carbon Wheels????

I’ve got to think about this one.

A spare set of CF wheels cost me $5200 (one wheel at a time, with repairs accomplished by me). Two of the wheels came with new tires, so knock off another $1K. That puts the total at $4200 for a complete set.

Its easy. Buy them and fix them yourself. It may take time to accumulate them, but well worth the effort.

As my thread pertaining to repair says, most any wheel can be repaired. Besides, you are a mechanic with the necessary skills to do the work. Anyone who goes out and buys a set for$20k either has too much money or just doesn't get it.

For your planning purposes, 1500 to 2k per wheel is a good buy depending on condition.
