Just found a pretty big quality control issue on my brand new vehicle. How to fix?

My custom order literally came off the truck at my dealership yesterday and I picked it up the same day. I was so eager to get it home after waiting since June that I somehow managed to miss this obvious flaw. No idea what this is or how to fix it. Should I ask the dealership to take care of it or could I fix it at home?

We have an automatic carwash at my dealer. That looks exactly like part of the spinning brushes that sometimes gets snagged.

Really? It looks to me like some fabric from somewhere got fused there during assembly and was painted with the car. I could be wrong

Looks like Smurf hairā€¦. Just tug on it and see what happensā€¦
I tried and it hasnā€™t come out. I donā€™t want to pull too hard

Try to slide it towards the front. Those brushes get snagged all the time. Can be difficult to remove.

If it's actually painted it could be the panel was damaged and repaired before shipment. Ford is under no obligation to mention it.
If it's just stuck fabric you could use a plastic body panel/trim tool to widen the gap so you can pull it out.
Or there's always the option of taking it to the dealer.

I mean we are talking about Flat Rock here. Why am I not surprised.

Literally I already have a lemon as a mustang, waited 6 months for this one, and they sent it to me with some crap fused to the trim šŸ˜

Well, itā€™s not supposed to beā€¦ but it is at the moment šŸ˜…
What I'm saying is that you are looking at some fiber from something. Possibly from a car wash and it may or not have come from Ford that way (in fact I doubt it). But in any case, you can just pull it out. It wasn't painted on, it wasn't riveted on, it wasn't glued on, or anything else.

9/10 times you can grab a chopstick or plastic butter knife and slide it out. However, that fabric isn't hurting anything either. Just drive the car and have fun šŸ‘

Itā€™s not fused, I guarantee itā€™s just wedged in there. You will have to pull it out toward the wheel opening. Donā€™t pull it out perpendicular to the panel, will be more difficult and may not come out. It might take quite a bit of effort, might help if you get it wet. It did not come from the factory like that, happened later, probably at the dealer. Looks like it came from the car wash.
