This will be fun!!
2019 Mustang GT, PP1, Manual Trans, Magneride, upgraded to Ford Performance Handling Package (lowering springs, bigger anti-roll bars) flashed ECU 93 Octane tune, added FTB diff cooler, Steeda Camber Plates, track alignment. Driven the car for almost 3 years as my weekender and have about 10 track days in the car.
—-VERSUS—-
2019 Porsche 718 Boxster S, PDK, PTV, PASM-Sport, Sport Chrono - Stock…no modification. New purchase, first time taking to the track. Have driven the car about 500 miles.

Driver: 50 years young, male, Barber Racing School 3 day and 2 Advance Mustang GT Graduate (Lime Rock).

Porsche is the latest purchase last week. It was a demo with 900 miles. Going into the shop next week for Oil Change and Brake Flush, then taking both to Atlanta Motorsports Park for a shootout. I’ll do a 20 minute warmup session with each car, then 8 laps in the Mustang and 8 laps in the Boxster. Fastest single lap wins.

Questions, Comments and Predictions welcome!

(Macan is the wife’s car, she should be driving a Volvo but liked the color….)

Thank you!
I had to go with the 2.5L Turbo. wanted that torque to come on fast at corner exits onto the straights. Lots of crap on the net about the engine sound. I think it sounds really good with the sport exhaust.
Tires:
Mustang - Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S - 285/40 rear, 255/40 front
Boxster - Pirelli P Zero - 265/40 rear, 235/40 Front

Price difference? Dammed a$$ engined Nazi slot cars (not my line, but Carrol Shelbys). This will be interesting. I'll bet the Porsche will make it feel easy, the Mustang a hoot throwing it around and slamming gears. Let's see what a couple 10k or so gets you time wise.

Wow very nice Im jealous.

I grew up going to track days with my dad and his 911. The track is Porsche's home. I would bet on the Porsche.

-Its almost 1k lighter.
-PDK
-mid engine better balance

What tires?

Congrats on the Porsche I am lurking on a GTS 4.0 or a 718 Spyder or a Mach 1….
Early this year I bought a 2021 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 that I ordered, then bought a 2021 Mach 1 HP, stopped driving the Porsche because I liked the Mach 1 so much!, then sold the GTS 4.0 beause it wasn't driven enough to justify keeping it.

so I sold my 718 and now ordered a Mach 1. Wondering if I did the right thing. ?? $20K less invested on a 3 year newer car.

I think you did the right thing, as good as Porsches are, there is just something about a Mustang that other cars cant replace or match! I have had 24 Mustangs from classics to modern and 5 Porsches, 4 911 (including an 18 GT3)and the boxster gts 4.0, and I wouldn't give up my Mustang to get back into one of the Porsches, even if it were an even trade. Porshce does an awesome job in engineering and building near perfect sport cars, I just prefer the Mustang, may just be because I have enjoyed so many of them and got set in my ways!

I’m letting go of a supercharged performance pack 17 GT for a 22 GT4. I ordered the GT4 much earlier this year and it’s slated for delivery in a few weeks. I can’t wait to find out if it was a good or bad decision.

You order the GT4 with manual or PDK?

If your Mustang has the 380mm Brembo 6-piston brakes then, my money is on the mustang!

I just dusted a few Porsche GT4's and 718 at Road America with my M1HP.

I smile and wave, everytime I pass a Porsche, Corvette, BMW on track. Mustang’s are for real. Let us know how it goes.

Driver experience may play a role too. I’m super comfortable in the Mustang. Will be first time on the track with the Porsche.

We need to find you some proper 19x10 wheels
I was thinking the same thing. Moving from the stock setup, to 19x10 squared with SuperCar3’s completely changed the car along with camber and Steeda springs.
