The Porsche car is faster than you can drive.
No need to insult the guy. There's always going to be someone that can extract more speed from a car than you or me or anyone else.

On Top Gear Lewis Hamilton made a faster lap than most in a junky low-powered sedan. Was that car faster than the others could drive? Or is LH just a really good driver?

The real question - is Hanavarian faster in the Porsche or the Mustang?

I love P cars, always have, and did a rescue and restore of this beauty. Is a 912E. Rebuilt the motor with bigbore P&C, hot cam, solid lifters, Dellorto carbs, pertronix high output ignition, custom exhaust, ported remade heads, roller rockers, elephant foot adjusters, and blueprinted and balanced cran, flywheel, CR & Pistons down to a gnats @$$. Custom center cooling system and equal lenght header exhaust. Motor is dyno'd at 145 rear wheels. Custom suspension bits with spherical delrin bushings (VS stock pressed rubber), upgraded vented brakes on all 4 corners. Corner balanced and lowered to Euro ride height, 50/50 weight balance, it owns the track with N/A P cars of same period. Hangs on acceleration due to lighter weight and close to same power, and a monster in the turns.

I REALLY wanted a new 911 or Cayman GTS, but just not willing to spend $40-40K more. I am totally happy with my 2020 Bullitt, and will continue to be so for the next 20 years, especially for maintenance and repair/upgrade costs.....

..No need to insult the guy. ..
It wasn't an insult. It was for 95% of the guys here.

The Porsche Factory Drivers are great, and the Porsche Experience drivers are very good. They have good really good Porsche guys in vintage racing.

I am in the 95% so I'm about average.

More like 99.9999% of people. There's only one fastest driver.

I was trying to say it's more about having fun in the car vs. whether someone else can drive the car faster. I'm not a huge momentum car guy, especially for street driving. I'd buy a cheap momentum car, but not an expensive one. The experience is fun, but not fun enough to spend 2X Mustang money or something. I like my '86 944, and I think for $4k it was a good buy. Spending 6 figures, no thanks.
