Not sure if I mentioned it or not, but I met up with a photographer while at Mustang Week for a photo......

Another option to help it on its way :

WD :like:
I would never close my trunk with those - I'd be worried in a fluke that my finger would accidentally get caught up in the loop and smashed by the closing trunk deck. I use the top of the trunk deck under the wing with one or two fingers on my ZL1 where a finger print will never be noticed. I'd much rather have a finger print/smudge than smashed fingers/hand.

That's the same reason I never use the hook/latch point on a hood to close a hood. I use the leading edge with the palm of my hand to minimize smudges, and no finger prints on top of the hood, but no chance of fingers getting smashed by the hood.

Guess it boils down to hand/eye coordination. <smile>

Personally, I want them thanks to the stiffness of even one Steeda shock. It's a PITA for me JUST to get the darn lid DOWN from the open position. Once down, I can either be QUICK and "sling" it closed or, just use one hand to press on the trailing edge of the deck to lock it once I get it horizontal. But, after reading Idaho's post, it's nearly a certainty that I will smash some fingers if/when I make the mod. <laughing>

The loops are a great addition. I used to have one that a vendor once sold (can’t remember who) on only one side, and I would just use it to get the trunk down to a mostly closed position, then I switch my hand to the top (painted) portion of the trunk lid to finish closing it. I will definitely make another strap (or loop). Thanks WD

Ha, hopefully not! I could probably do it 1,000 times without incident. But all it takes is once...

This is one of the closeup pictures from the photo shoot. The rain came down pretty good after this was taken.
