Maybe the mustang is my third mid life crisis - I'm loosing count....

So my journey started with the 2019 Mustang 300a A10 car late February when I found a great deal on a new left over 2019 on my local dealers lot. It did'nt take long to stumble across the m6g forum and the mods started shipping to my door. Here we are the night I took delivery. Nice car but those wheels ........

First set of mods came from a call to @beefcake and an Ngauge, Lund tune and Corsa sport exhaust was on its way. I think that lasted about a week and Corsa headers, JLT catch can and K and N drop filter BMR front and rear drag springs and a full Steeda stop the hop rear suspension kit was on its way. Shortly following the header install Beefcake shipped a Forgestar D5 drag pack with 18x5 fronts and 17x10 rears along with 28x6 and 305 45 17 ET street SS for the rear. Much better!

March 23rd 2020 - COvid 19 Stay at home order issued from The governor of Michigan. This started 12 wks of the most peaceful and enjoyful months in my adult life! Not to put light on a bad situation but I am fortunate to have been able to maintain my families lifestyle and it forced us all to be together. Sooo - after cautiously planning and several emails to Terry - a Vortech V3JT 900HP kit was ordered. Now during this time we had listed our house for sale the day before the stay at home order. The day it lifted the house sold and I had 2wks to find a new place to rent while a new house was being built. So the car, all the Vortech boxes, all my tools etc. head off to a storage unit.

Once lifes priorities were handled with the house I was ready to focus on the car again. A call to lethal for a triple pump return system and the install began.

The Vortech install was pretty easy as far as I am concerned. I did a lot of research and planning before tearing into the car and had a well laid plan of attack. I eliminated the IMRC and simplified the vacuum lines adding a Fore vacuum block to distribute vacuum to my boost gauge, fuel pressure regulator and Hobbs switch for the third pump. The lethal fuel system installed pretty easy but I did struggle with the pre made lines. A call to Lethal and they took care of me right away. Also during the install i switched from the supplied 3.6" pulley and went with a grip tech 3.33". Brandon from Lund did all the tuning for e85 and the the car runs flawlessly. I chased some false knock but I believe it was the wiring harness for the IMRC I did'nt get secured.

Fast forward to Last Saturday Night and Milan Drag Way no ET grudge racing. First hit off the trailer - yes trailer not because its not road worthy but I fully expected to leave the stock axles at the track - it went a 10.2 at 144 with a 1.59 60'. That would be the only hit I got due to so many cars and soooo many cars leaving parts on the track that night. I am very happy with the 144 mph and have some suspension work to do. I got a slight wheel hop I suspect from the stock shocks unloading . The car would pull power and then kick back in costing me that slower front half.

Gonna try and put this thing on a diet and improve the suspension. Made another purchase from beefcake and have the Baer drag brakes coming. The rear are supposed to allow 15" rear wheels so I'm also looking into switching wheels to the Billet Specialties or welds.... bead lock?

Installed an anti gravity atx -20 with restart. Holy cow is this thing light. This saved 27lbs just from a battery!

Made a call to Vector Motorsports and ordered a set of Viking crusaders triple adjust rear shocks and G Force renegade axles. Usually I like to do all my own work but Ill have them install the axles, shocks and brakes when all the parts come in. Breaking ground next week on our new house and getting Married Saturday will not allow much garage / storage unit time:).

Well its been a long winter made even longer trying to build a house and work on toys in a storage locker. Added some LED lights to the storage unit so I can get back to this thing.

In the spirit of cutting more weight I picked up a new set of wheels. Going to a 275 60 15 in the rear on a custom 15x9.2" bead lock wheel in the rear and a 17x5 in the front with 28"x6. ALSO Adding Bear front and rear drag brakes, BMR K member, steeda rear diff support, G Force axles and viking shocks. Looking to optimize the set up and ultimately be able to consistently run 9.2 and drive home from the track.

Next up will be the trans - going to stay 10r80 and add clutches and a circle D N/A convertor as of now. Humoring the option of jumping up from the v3 head unit to a jt-b or maybe ysi ?? Wont make that decision until next winter is here and life settles down a bit. Anyone have thoughts on a good trans tech semi local to Michigan? I think the most success on these trans have came from Midnight Performance in Texas?
