Off with Michelin Pilot Sport 4s summer wheels/tires, on with the Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3.

Temps in the 30s this week.

I keep AS/3’s on all year. I’m freaky like that.

FWIW I’ve got a 4x4 truck for snow days

My favorite tire so far have been the Bridgestone pole positions. Freaking wonderful tire.

Set of 245/45-R19 Pilot Alpin 5 tires on 19x9 Boss 302 wheels waiting for it to be consistently colder during the day (weekend fun car instead of DD). Probably go on around Thanksgiving.

I am a Long Islander too but I have Pilot Sport Cup 2 on my PP2. I am already seeing that morning temps at and below 50 need a few miles to warm the tires up for them to stick. Already has the tail spin a little and very slight waggle. I have a set of 275 Blizzak LM -32 set to go on probably before Halloween.

I just keep it in the garage and drive it on sunny days when I'm being ballsy lol.

Just drive my beater to work or my wife's (soon to be very modded) 3.0T Q5.

They are amazing tires. If I didn't have 2 sets of wheels I could be happy with just the AS/3.

I run the A/S 3+ year round too. More than enough tire for me on the street. I do want to get a second set of wheels with Pilot Sport 4s tires for the occasional track day or autocross event, but the A/S 3+ have been doing really well so far, even in the warmer months.

I just leave summer tires on my car. Was way cheaper to just buy a used beater car that ran fine for 1200.00 then to get new tires and rims for the GT LOL. Even with winter tires on Mustang still wouldn't take it out afraid some other jerk would run into me sliding. My tires aint gonna change that. Rather them hit the beater car. Still warm enough at least once or so a week to take Mustang out on summer tires for a little spin.

Hi Sir, I have the same 2019 PP1. What other tire sizes would fit other than 245/45/19 and 255/40/19? Thank you. Looking to get a narrower size winter tire for my car

From what I read, on wheel-size.com for the Mustang GT, they say the 235/50ZR18 is what Ford recommends as a snow tire. With the PP1 or PP2, an 18" rim will never fit over the 15" Brembos.

I would suggest looking at a tire calculator to figure out what size will fit. If you plan on using the stock rims or not.
I have used this one:
https://www.tire-size-calculator.info/

You want to keep the tire diameter less than 3% off stock to at least minimize speedo changes, etc.

Based on the width of the rims you plan on using, here is a chart that lists the range of tire widths that can fit.

I just put the stock base wheels with the stock AS tires back on. Once they wear out I will put some AS tires on the 20s.

Good afternoon.

I went with the 245 wide in order to stay with a wheel I knew would fit over the front brakes. It's still narrower than the PP1 stock 255 front / 275 rear tires, keeps the exact same rear wheel diameter for the speedometer calibration, and lets me rotate front to back each year. I kicked a few other sizes around with the guys at Tire Rack, but all the other ones I looked at would have likely needed wheels with either spacers or centering rings, and I didn't want to deal with either.
