There are only 2 18's that have run low 8's right now. Both are at 8.3's at 168ish mph

And you're also looking at the price you paid for your car which I'm sure is less than MSRP. The vettes will be for less than MSRP eventually as well. Yahoo already has a article of the dealerships that are honoring msrp price.

Base Corvette... eh... (love the look - performance is good for the money), but I don't see someone who wants to buy a GT500 buying it instead (I would consider buying the Corvette as a summer daily, however)

Z06... flat plane crank twin-turbo... now we are talking... that is the car for similar price to the CFTP (current Z06 starts at ~$80K... say new will be less than $100K?) - not far off from GT500 (esp. considering ADM's)

lt2 wont take over 650 rwhp , same rods and pistons as LT1 and too much torque for its own good, cant make big HP. 2018+ 5.0 can handle 900 rwhp pretty reliably mainly because lower torque. 10 speed should also still be a gearing advantage.

And be an unbearable car to live with day to day. Also a 70k c8 will be worth 55 to 60k in a year, a 70k gt will be worth 20 to 25k in a year. To each their own.

spanking c8's, c8 z06's, veyrons, etc.. in a GT by 20 car lengths is priceless and you only lose the money if you sell ;)

My car drive like it is completely stock. Great thing about turbos. Not until I got WOT does it shoot like a rocket.
Car still has cold AC. I do have a truck as my daily but I constantly drive the mustang to work. Which for me is a 30 mile, hour commute. A lot of sitting in Houston traffic and then some regular speed highway drives.
I've driven the car to and from Dallas just like the way it is now. No complaints here. My car has a pretty basic set up.

In my eyes it is 4200 vs 3550 because anyone can buy a 28k car and giveme11s that sucker for 6k and have 700rwhp.

The next level of performance car is weight. The 500 will be a beast of a car but there is just so much you can do with that weight.

Again I will say this. We are comparing a mustang to a Corvette. That just shows how irrelevant the Camaro is or how relevant the Mustang is.

I just wish like 78% of the country we could lose a few pounds.

The comparison stems from them both being the latest and greatest, not from the Camaro's irrevelance. You better believe there will be comparisons between the ZL1/ZL1 1LE and GT500 as soon as the auto mags can get their hands on one.

70k properly spent on any 2015 + auto GT including purchase price will go low 8s if not 7s
