Again I will say this. We are comparing a mustang to a Corvette. That just shows how irrelevant the Camaro is or how relevant the Mustang is.
No one is comparing a Mustang GT to the Corvette. They're comparing the Shelby GT350 / GT500. It's the closest thing Ford has for comparison, and only for the base or Z51 models. Ford has nothing to even compare with the Z06 / ZR1

A mid-engine C8 won't hook, too funny.

0 to 60 MPH in 2.9 will be the norm. No stock Mustang has a chance 0 to 80 MPH.

What's your excuse when the C8 Z06 doing 9's in the Qtr mile, bone stock?

Corvette is the New Street King, Mustang GT500 will be the Qtr Mile King until the C8 Z06 arrives in 2 years.
It wont hook on the street from a dig, in every video of the c8 flooring it from a dig its spun. It has NO CHANCE of hitting 0-60 below 3 on the street. Its not AWD, its not some magic shit, it will NOT happen on the street. and the gt500 will walk it so hard from 30-150 that it will be hilarious. Even 0-80 if the gt500 gets good tires it will obliterate the c8.

The c8 wont hook on the street just like a gt500 wont their measurement is on a prepped drag strip. From a roll which basically 100% of street racing is, the gt500 will obliterate it so hard it will be hilarious. With drag radials the gt500 will do 0-60 better on the street than the c8. The gt500 will trap 10-15 mph higher than the c8 at the dragstrip. With a pulley e85 and tune the gt500 will make an easy 900+ rwhp, c8 will never make over 700 without a built engine + power adder. The c8 is so overhyped that its hilarious. I cant wait to race one in my tune only 10r80 GT lol.
It is going to all about traction.

Below 90 I think your car will hang with or pull on a gt500 with factory tires. 3800 vs 4200

In my eyes it is 4200 vs 3550 because anyone can buy a 28k car and giveme11s that sucker for 6k and have 700rwhp.
Okay, but with that logic every single OEM vehicle is a fail. Which new sports car can you not make that same argument? Aftermarket is always going to be cheaper to go faster no matter what car you're comparing to.

The C8 will hook, especially with the right tires. The engine is practically over the rear tires.

Porshe 911 RWD are getting similar times to 60 MPH with 443 HP.

30-150 MPH it's GT500 all day, agreeing with you, even 30 MPH to whatever the GT500 will win. High HP always wins the longer the race.

GT500 will destroy the C8 in a half-mile or one-mile race.

Bottom line, if you own a C8 only race from a "standing start," for the GT500 race from a roll.

What a great time to be a car nut...where we can go argue about a car's performance on the street before their release. Can't wait until the C8 and GT500 are out in the wild, the chatter on car forums and YouTube will be NON-STOP...plz carry on as I run to the store to get some more buttered pop-corn!

Not a fan of the Camaro. Never got used to the looks, although it's the Best Bang for buck car on the street.

GT350 and GT500 look 100x better.

Heck, I'd probably take a Dodge Challenger over the Camaro.

I'm not super impressed with the car's specs to be honest. A 2019 GT PP1 10R80 with a Lund E85R only tune with decent tires will drag close to those quarter mile times and mph. I've got about $38k into my 18 GT all total, bought new, light bolts ons and already went 11.43 @ 123mph on a 1.82 60ft. Not arguing the track handling capability of the car, but I wouldnt be focusing on the 1/4 mile times for a $60k car that a $38k light bolt on GT will run with.
Not everyone cares about the 1/4, this thing will out handle the gt, and i know I'm gonna get flamed but it looks so much better than a mustang. For everything this car offers it's a bargain.

Mind you still love my mustang, but it's no mid engine.

Also really hope the posted specs are accurate. If so this is going to be one hell of a car for the price

I agree. With the weight being over the rear wheels it's not going to have a problem hooking on the street.
Shit my mustang makes 900whp+ and I hook on the street just fine. Bone stock suspension. It's all about tires.

70k in a GT (including purchase price) is not going to run 7's. There's only 5 s550's that run 7's right now.
