Motor Trends response.

I'll take 3.17 to 60MPH all frickin day on a Non-prepped public street.

Should beat about 99% of all Production vehicles on the planet.

C7 ZR1s won't touch this on a public street, or Camaro ZL1 1LE.

The Street King is back.

If some high horsepower car catches up I'll be at 85MPH+ and the race will be over in regular street racing.

But I would never street race, cough, cough!

Before the C8 reveal I was hoping for a Sub 3.5 on a prepped surface.

These times are surreal on a public street.
Wow. That's the biggest pile of horseshit I ever read. Show the original convo.

Corvair was rear engine, but I get your point. Fiero? Now that was mid-engine.
Yip for got about the old Fiero. Pontiac had some really neat cars. Miss them.

Mid engine, rear engine, its all the same to me. Either way you have to look in the trunk for the dipstick.

I can't believe Ralph Nader hasn't stuck his head up out of his hole hearing that GM is releasing another mid-engine car...
I think these days Ralph Nader is more concerned about solid bowel movements than mid-engines cars.

Forgot I had these from the Woodward Cruise. Just as I started making my video of the C8 exhibit at the Cruise, a Corvair and a Fiero drove by. Both had LS swaps sticking out of the hood..... in the front. Couldn’t have timed that drive-by any better.

I agree.

I'd rather watch a Camaro or Mustang at the track.

This C8 is too f'n smooth off the launch and I detest the noise pre-launch.

It may be Fast but BORING.

Saw an orange one tonight at the Sams club/Walmart In grand blanc mi. Still not a fan. Just doesn’t look good in person. Very quiet though if that’s your thing.

Can't stand quiet.

Shelby GT350 has the best sound EVAR!!!

If the C8 could have the exhaust note of a Shelby or Ferrari, holy shit, that would be some car.

Not to mention that wasn't no 3 sec 0-60!
I doubt it is fast enough that they all will do 0-60 under 3 seconds under any conditions. There are tests of cars where the results vary by half a second in some cases. I look up results for the GTs and I can get anywhere from 11.9 - 12.6. So if the first outing of it results in a 3.17 then that is close enough to say that it definitely CAN do it .18 seconds faster. We will have a better picture painted once we get more results.

I'd be more than happy with anything under 3.3/3.5 on a public street, non-prepped surface.

I hate when all these Manufacturers publish "Black Swan" (once in a lifetime, aka Demon 9.65) type of events with times. Perfect temps, DA, track, car tuned to perfection, 1 quart of gas, driver who weighs 120lbs, etc...

Just fill the damn tank, put a 200lb guy in the driver's seat and let it rip. :curse:

I'll never understand why anyone rips on any of these cars. Ford GT500, Corvette C8, Camaro, Challenger, etc...

Do you guys realize in ten years or less it's probably Game Over for all of us? Have you seen what AOC, Beto O'Rourke, Warren, Bernie Sanders, etc... want to do with our High Horsepower, gas-guzzling (non-electric) cars.

God help us all when eventually they will win the White House. If it doesn't happen next year it will probably happen in 2024, then were fuck city.

Electric cars will be the norm.

I hope the GT500 sets new records in the quarter-mile, road course, etc... it will force chevy to up the ante on the Z06, it's all good.

Consumers win.

If I had my way I'd have the Shelby GT350R, Shelby GT500, Camaro ZL1 1LE, C8 Z06 and a Redeye in my garage.
