This morning on the commute to work, it started snowing out of my AC vents. Like blowing a substantial amount of snowflakes. I am assuming that this isn't normal. And as the AC system doesn't aid in handling or power, I know nothing about them.

First thing to do is check for leaks. A dye like EZ-Ject dye cartridges could help you out with that.

I'm no a/c or hvac specialist, but the way I understand it, when the car is low on refrigerant, the evaporator coil freezes up and is rendered useless. If the evaporator can't do its job, you could see snowflakes coming out of your vents.

I hate to bring up the word evaporator but...it kind of sounds like it.

Edit: Whoops... Someone beat me to it.

Low on refringent so it's expanding too much causing the evaporator to cool down too much.

Only problem is, being low on refrigerant isn't necessarily the source of the problem. It's a closed system. Means he most likely has a leak somewhere.

What's your build date? IIRC, 9/1/2016 was the cutover date for the newer, redesigned evaporator that doesn't leak...
