just curious. i know ford does it on the ecoboost and stuff. but they don’t do it on the GT, right? makes no sense. have active exhaust on it and all, so i would assume no and i’m hearing all exhaust lol. i can’t find a real answer besides the sound tube which idc about, that’s actual noise, not fake stuff.

Have someone start the engine and rev up engines while you have your pair of ears close to exhaust pipes. You'll have the answer.

No, there are not artificial engine sounds on the GT.

Yes, there is a resonator tube running from the intake box to the firewall on both '15-'17, and '18-'22 models.

Yes, it can be removed and plugged if you desire.

I'm not familiar enough with Ecoboost to speak to it.

Echoing EFI, whoever told you the GT/GT500 have fake engine sounds coming through the speakers a-la a certain Bavarian manufactuter in recent years, is full of it.

....I don't know about a fake sound, but I start my car in the downstairs
with the outside door closed and the driver's door open.

My Challenger really had a grumble/growl when I started it..............
My Mustang sounds great, but I think the Scat Pack sounded better (both stock)

My 86 yo mom steps outside when I leave her house so she can hear the the car start.

supposedly amplifies intake noise (and by association, engine/exhaust) inside the cabin Though the speaker to enhance the driving experience,.

The GT is way too quiet stock IMO. With a catback the character comes out 1000% more.

see, my active exhaust is loud as F when it starts up…like, real loud lol and you can only start it in quiet or normal mode. even quiet start isn’t that quiet, tried it once lol

Yeah, it's loud until you put it next to my car with a 3 inch catback with straight through outer chambers, lol. Cold starts sound downright criminal if I'm backed against a structure or wall. But then there are people with long tube headers (or god forbid a supercharger and all of the above) who will make my car sound civilized.

I do like active exhaust though, it works really well and is much better than the standard exhaust.
