Well as long as CHT does get too high then I know my ECT is ok. Last time on the track I kept an eye on CHT and it never went above 230 and it was a really hot day, mid 80’s. I need to see if TrackAddict will grab it from my wireless OBDLink since I’m already plugged into my OBDII port.
Funny how one thinks mid 80’s is a really hot day.
You must live in the far north.

So what about the temp gauge inside the tach. What does it indicate?

Yes, I know it’s an idiot light, but it should have a preset temp for which it would start to climb higher and indicate something.

Just as an FYI, I know the gauge (idiot light with a needle) on my F150 is coolant temp and it will start to climb above its “normal” position around 230°. Our gauge should have some type of similar action.

I thought I'd posted in this thread already, but apparently not. Anyway, if you look at the GT350 service manual wiring diagrams, you'll find exactly one engine temp sensor: CHT. The ECU computes EOT and ECT from CHT.

The ECU uses EOT and ECT for a wide range of functions - valve timing, mixture, spark, limp mode, etc - but the values themselves are derived from CHT.
