I am looking at the Black painted roof and possibly, the Black painted stripes. (I realize there is overlap, so the $10K is even more outrageous...)

Does anyone know if they are the same paint color code? (ie. will they match?)

Also, how close of a color match are the Black painted roof and the Black vinyl stripes?

Hey dude, Corpus here.

Regarding your question, I do believe they are both Shadow Black. I know the painted stripes are for sure but I didn't get the black roof.
I had heard the roof was Shadow Black, but the Ford Ordering system calls the Racing Stripe "Absolute Black", which sounds like a color without metallic.

I am sure they will not discount the Racing Stripe when purchased with the black roof, even though there is less to hand paint.

The answer is yes. The paint for the stripes is the same as the roof. I took photos and they both have the bluish/purple flakes as seen in ansolute black/shadow black.

Thank you, for taking the time to compare them! Now, I have to find that Golden Ticket to order one with painted stripes... :sunglasses:

If you are saying that you will buy a car with painted stripes and then have the roof painted, remember the VIN when decoded will reflect that the car did not originally come with a black roof.

Yes, I have read your other posts concerning adding components to the car that will not be reflected in the VIN. I am thinking about ordering a Base car with painted black stripes and a painted black roof. I realize this was not the original intent of the Golden Ticket, but it clearly says you can remove either feature when ordering the car.

The other option is to order a Base car with no stripes / painted roof and have my local vinyl wrap shop do the work. This will obviously cost me much less and give me the flexibility of changing the look down the road. The items would match perfectly, since they were done at the same time using the same material and I would specify a higher quality wrap vs the one Ford uses. The shop has done vinyl wrap work on my Raptors and Tremor, so I know it will look good without the body seam gap issues from Ford.

Using aftermarket vinyl will have the same VIN number issues you mentioned, but I am not sure it will matter to the future buyer of a Base car.

I think that is the first time I've ever heard of someone planning to use a (potential) GT allocation just for painted stripes. No doubt it's happened plenty, but I don't recall one here..anyone else?

So, TxGT350...whereabouts are ya in "SE Texas"? :-)

Yes, there was a guy in nebraska early on who went away when he got his car. He had a base with painted stripes. I don't recall his user name.

I live north of Houston in the Lake Conroe area.

Any thoughts on going with a no stripe / no black roof Base car and having it all done after market? It probably makes more sense financially and should be much easier to find an allocation.
