Well, I don't get on a track very often; most of my driving is street. I'd rather spend on upgrades other than Summer-only tires; and even after all these years, I'm not so good a driver as to be able to discern such a difference in track timing. (I don't drag race.)

At the risk of hijacking the thread, does anybody know if these 2015 50th anniversary rims will clear the brakes and otherwise fit on my 2020 Bullitt? They have winters on them and I’m thinking of making an offer. I’m pretty sure they’re narrower than my OEMs but I’m fine with that.

if they are 19" then there is very good chance it will fit. I can't make out the tire markings. Likely 8.5" wide.

My guess is that they are 50th Anniversary Package wheels as opposed to the wheels that came with the 1,964 50th Anniversary cars and therefore 8.5” (still waiting to hear more about the specs).
Tires were advertised as 255s when I first found them. If they were the rarer wheels that came with the special edition cars - which I will snatch up right away if they are because they are rare - I think they would be 255s and 275s.
My concern is about clearing the Brembos in either case, of course.

Picking them up tomorrow morning for $1,100 CDN, which works out to about $900 US, a bargain if they check out.
Apparently the wheels are like new and the tires have only been used a bit during two winters.
Buying the same sets of tires and rims brand new would have set me back 2 or 3 multiples of that.
Fingers crossed and if anyone else has experience with putting wheels like these on PP1 or higher Mustangs, please chime in, I would love to hear from you.

Did you see the Steeda wheel release trailer? What do you think? Did it sway you from the RTRs? I just picked up that set of winter PP1 wheels and I'll let you know how the 275s all around ride.

That's interesting and surprising they spin free. I hear so much about most OEM non PP wheels not clearing the brembos. And those are only 8.5"? Is it the 45ET that gets them to clear?

It's the barrel diameter that allows to clear. Thankfully ford appears to have checked all of their 19 inch wheels for clearance. The vast majority of aftermarket 19 also do so.

just shod them with 255/40 all around and you're good to go. You can even rotate them with a 5mm spacer up front when you put the 9.5 wheels up front. Plus they have a heavy paint coating which will stand up to salt and sand way better than many aftermarket wheels.

the Conti DWS 06 are a UHP 3-season tire that WILL flat-spot overnight in cold temps and go thumpa-thumpa-thumpa for a while till it warms up. Ditto BT 980AS, Hankook Noble 2, BFG Comp2a, General Gmax-as5. The Pirellis didn't or it was only slight but they also felt sketchy in wet. The DWS really feels good but soft. It gets to 20F often enough in Virginia but around here we don't get snow worth a damn except once or twice a season but the crews are good at removal. If snow is a common thing, get winter tires. There's plenty of options in 255/40/19'ish to choose from.

Figure out what size tire is available and then buy a wheel to match. Winter tires are frequently relatively narrow. 19x9 is probably the best compromise since you can generally use 245-275 tires. 19x8.5 wheels are a dime a dozen but your size options go narrower, obviously. Yes, you can still be a 'man' and drive a GT mustang on 8.5 or 9 wide wheels.

I'm not shogun, but narrower tires are generally preferable in winter road conditions, unless you are plowing through really deep snow
