Is it worth spending $1900 on radio upgrade to 8 inch system from infotainment?

For $1900 I'd rather go with a nice aftermarket unit. The display on the 8", at least in my '16 is not great. Has the display been ugraded!? It's dull and a bit washed out on mine. Definitely serviceable but not great, and nothing wrong with it, just what Ford used. What I did upgrade was the USB adapter to add Car Play but that's off topic here.
Mine is a small 4 inch screen that comes with the base mustang GT.

ive seen full kits go for like 700-1000 in classifieds, I am not sure if prices went up though with everything else.

There are some kits available on eBay for less than $1k. This infotainment website is offering factory navigation system ma with warranty that’s why it’s expensive. But after spending $1.9k on it I would have to spend some more on installation. That’s why I’m confused if that’s really worth it

Just use your phone. I have so many better things to spend $1900 on my car than that. Just my thought.

Yep. Waze on my phone for nav. Car already has built in bluetooth for calls. And I only listen to one radio station.

It's "projecting" Waze nicely, that's the best use of it :giggle: Ford Nav is total garbage same as pretty much any navigation from other manufacturers. Tiny screen looks very dated in 2021, but 2 grand is too much in my opinion for such upgrade.

Contact Tom Hextall, he will take care of you. Im sure he can do it less expensive than that also helps with the Forscan to get it right. I found my bezel from a 2019 Mustang Ecoboost and APIM from a bone yard for $300.00. I lucked out, but Tom helped me with a different APIM as I wanted OEM Nav.

Don't ever go backwards as far as model year. Don't go to a 2015-2017 setup with the older Sync. What is so nice about the 19-20 Mustangs no harness is needed and you get the latest Sync setup.

Regarding aftermarket, I would pass. The aftermarket bezels are sorely lacking and loaded with problems.

I tried parts farm once they only sent the screen and charged more for it. They said they don’t have the cable required

Two words, one name Tom Hextall. Once again guys if you have a 2019-2020 stick with the units from those cars. Don't backtrack.
