Is it worth right now to buy a new Shelby gt350? Knowing that there is a new refresh and a slight chance of a new gt500?

You mean wait for the new gt500 (or whatever they call it) or wait for the 2018 gt350? There is no confirmation of a halo mustang coming.

There will always be something better and faster around the corner, whether it comes with a ford badge or something else remains to be seen. You will miss out on one hell of a car if you keep looking into the future. Don't know about tomorrow, but Today there is no other car with a sub $100k price tag that I rather drive than the gt350.

Your going to have to define "worth"

The GT500 is going to be ridiculous if and when it comes out price wise.
The MSRP will be in the 60k's for sure, and the dealer mark up will be 20-30K.
Is that "worth" it to you?

If you are going to track it then hell yes!

If just going out for cruises in populated areas then no IMO.

It's pretty much a street car for me, and I still think it's worth it 100%. That's basically telling everyone who doesn't track that the GT350 isn't worth it. Unless you're someone who can't appreciate what the GT350 actually represents, then yes. It's not worth it, at all. Especially if you're worried about the next biggest thing.

If the GT500 comes, snap up an R. ADM's are dropping and there are some LB R's that have caught my attention haha. I think the R will hold value and increase in value years down the road.

As stated above, there will always be better. Newer, faster, better technology etc. I think if you look at it that way (as well as with all other aspects in life) you'll never end up happy. If you think you like it now... the design, the performance, the heritage, then you have nothing to lose and should be happy with the purchase.

I get what you are saying but this is an opinion thread. To me a 350 feels caged up on metro and heavily populated suburban streets and unless it's an early morning Sunday drive little enjoyment is felt from the car by me. If I lived in a more open area with great roads then my opinion would be it's worth it. My comment does not detract from how others enjoy their car.

It depends on you and you haven't given me anything to work with. I see you drive a G80. That's a car that's quite different than the GT350, and less expensive. Do you switch cars all the time? Do you try to get bargains? What do you do with your cars?

Yes, there's going to be something new from Ford in the next 1-2 years and Ford will do their best to make it better at least in some way than the GT350.

Absolutely love my R. and I sold a 700HP well built 15 GT for it. It was hard to do but for what I got the R for and for what it is...definitely worth it.

Life is too short. Get what you can afford now and enjoy. I love the 350R and wouldn't do it any differently. I'm keeping it for good. It's not the most powerful but its one of those cars that when I start it up its a, 'oh yeah' feeling. Those kind of cars don't come around much.
Ill be getting the GT500 or whatever it is too, and that would be a good choice, I think. It should have way more power which should add more performance. I'm not sure it will have the same feeling to drive as the 350 tho. I traded my 2014 GT500 in for the 350R and I dont miss it one bit and prefer the 350 , 10x more.
I'll most likely trade the new gt500 in on the GM mid engine, playing it by ear I guess. The mid engine vette SHOULD be one of those 'oh yeah' cars.
