Is it huge downgrade to trade in my 2020 GT350 for a Stinger?

I don't know. Just saw commercial this week for first time. Maybe since the HP is low.

There is a GT with almost 300 HP and referred to as muscle and perf.

Yup, the K5 is a whopping 290HP. The Stinger GT2 comes with the 368HP twin turbo engine. Is it a GT350? Well of course not, nothing is. But it’s a damn good sport sedan. Try it, you might like it.

Oh, yes I have seen it at car meets with upgraded power. It's very nice look and reminds me of an RS3.

Haha, true. But, not as cool as a challenger IMO. I heard rumor of a charger mid engine. I would love that if they redid the body as it looks like 3 different cars from front, rear and side angles.

Exactly. The Turbo pulls but the FWD has MASSIVE torque steer. Actually turned me off from getting one to replace my 2016 Optima. The Stinger gives you performance and RWD or AWD.

Obviously massively different than a GT350, but as many have noted it depends on what you want your car for.

Depends on the vibe you’re looking for. A fully loaded Stinger is around $54k. The can buy you a very nicely equipped Scat Pack. And it comes with a “HEMI”. Yeah, OK, I’m in.

Get a V8 Charger. Still got muscle with 4 doors, practical and comfy.

The Charger looks fantastic from every angle, and I will hear nothing else on the subject!

Regarding a mid-engine variant, I think we're more likely to see a 4-door Mustang (not very). Unless they don't make it a 4-door, how in the hell would a mid-engine sedan work? I mean, technically if they go EV, the "engine" isn't in the front anymore. Otherwise, it doesn't work conceptually. Or rather, it only works as a concept:

You said a loaded K5, not Stinger. I'm also using an unfair basis for comparison, even if you meant the Stinger at $54k. The Mustang is more power, for ~$19k less. Option it up, and you have a great GT car. As you already mentioned, the Charger is another comfortable, practical car, with a hell of a lot more juice for the money. Based on the numbers, the Stinger seems like a great way to spend money on a slower car. Yes, that's the foremost consideration in my smoothbrain

And OP already said he doesn't want a GT. The world of high performance sedans in the $50k range is small. Now you could go across the other pond but that gets costly, fast.

I like a car that handles well, the Charger doesn't.

I also didn't like the layout of the dash.
