Hey there Indy friends. Not a racing question but the Indiana section has been dormant for 2 years so thought I’d post here. Going to be in your neck of the woods for work tomorrow and I’m driving the Mustang down. Was going to stop at the Motor Speedway Museum as it’s been a long time since I’ve been there, but it looks like it’s closed for renovations. I’d like to get a few pics of my car at the Speedway, can I still get to the lot for the museum to do so?

Haven't been to the IMS for a bit so not sure what's going on there now. Best advice is go ahead and drive over and see if you get get in. If you're leaving before the weekend okay, if not there are some cruise in's going on too.

"Guests can check in for tours at the Pepsi building to the west of the Museum. The building also houses the Indianapolis Motor Speedway gift shop, which is open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. seven days a week except for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day."

That tells me access to the Museum is open through the tunnel off 16th St. However, who knows with construction going on if you can get a good photo. Good luck!

Gate 2 was open! Looked like they were prepping for a weekend event of some kind, but the gentlemen that was greeting everyone that came through the entrance told me to go ahead take as many pictures as I’d like. There were a few families that were trying to read the plaques out front and take pictures of their own, so I just did a quick one so they could do their thing. Got some nice compliments on the car while I was there.

Great glad to see a nice Mustang pic at the IMS. Yes they're having a IMSA race this weekend. Yours truly is headed to the local Road course for a track weekend. ;]

IMS is an incredible facility and the museum is a great place to take a picture. Love the grabber blue! When you have time, take the tour. That track is magic.

I’ve done the track tour but it’s only been about 30 years since I’ve done it LOL. Definitely need to go back and do the tour again and hit the museum once they’re done with renovations. Definitely a cool place to visit

A few of us should get together and do the tour. Been there for C&C, RedBull air show and a couple Indy 500 events but never been on the track

I'd be down for that, Mustang day at the IMS. LOL Keep tabs on the renovations and maybe create a thread for us Midwest 'Stangs.
