More Focus RS details were released today and Ford has a US configurator up for it.

They're going to import 2000 units to the US (they're all made in Germany) and MSRP ranges from $37k to $43k.

Anybody want to place bets on whether this will be another GT350-like shitshow to try and get one?

Less than 400 hp, I don't care... unless it's ~$25 grand.

But I agree, importing 2,000 cars only is a recipe for ADM and the dealers having a field day.

Ford is being picky on who has access, here in Tulsa the configurator defau defaults to a 2015 and there is no option for 2016. There is another site which allows people to build out that RS.

ADMs will be interesting. This is a car which seems like it will appeal to the under 30 age group primarily (but not exclusively). While I know there are some awesome young people who work hard, manage their money intelligently and don't have a lot of bills, I don't know that there are a lot who are able to buy a 40k car much less a 10k adm.

That said, it's a sexy little hatch back and looks like fun. I'm sure there will be plenty of able buyers with only 2,000 cars.

ADMs will kill this cars market in the US. It needs to complete with it's rivals on both price and performance. You start slapping on $5k+ ADMs there are better cars to be had including Ford's own Mustang GT.

It's available in manual only, seems like that would get clunky without an AT.

Also, lol @ 43K price tag. I just don't see it competing as well market wise at that price point. The base form is cheaper than the un-leather STI though, I suppose.

I think it will still sell out, but this is true. If dealers add the ADM the only thing to save the sales is the limited numbers.

They are not importing only 2,000 RSs.

They are only able to import 2,000 2016 RSs, because of a short model year. As the car will go on sale here in Spring, and the 2017 will be up for sale 7 months later.

They expect to bring 4~7k to United States PER YEAR, depending on demand.

Now, I drove european rental Civic that had it - worked fine - engine was turned off when you were stopped and in neutral, second you pushed the clutch in it was starting back on.

That seems awkward, most stops I'm at aren't even long enough for me to let the clutch out. Of course on my AT Jeep I get annoyed at how often it turns off sometimes so maybe it's actually a little bit less useful but more intuitive in a stick.
