Nothing special. Just a Honda CBR250r.

I was riding down the frontage road of the high way because it's a safe one way road, especially considering I commute at 4:30am. One day I was riding as usual and the light was green so I continued. I saw a lady in a cross over just absolutely burn the red! Had I left any earlier, boy, I'd hate to think that.

My house flooded and now I could have died? It ain't looking good for my 2 month old son.

same here, been riding for 35 years but I am a ”3 strikes and out” kinda guy...

one morning I read in the paper of a kid that was riding a CR250 in the ditches behind my house and hit a road sign, they found his body three days later, minus his head.

the next day my wife’s friend who was (and still is) a stuntman was sitting at a stoplight on his big @$$ Harley, and was hit by a cross traffic drunk driver, spent 8 weeks in the hospital recovering.

two days later my riding buddy from the RC51 club we were in didn’t show up to work, he had a massive coronary in his bed.

...I sold my bikes the following week 😐

400,000 miles under my belt. I've encountered a lot of reasons to make me want to give up riding.
I will never give it up.

But I will never judge anyone that does.

I sold my FXDWG this summer. It sat in the garage for about 2 years, I took it for a ride and did not enjoy it anymore.

Sad...

...@ 66 yo and I just traded 2 Harleys for one.
In the last 20 years, I've had 21 new Harleys. I've ridden 'em over
500,000 miles.
Probably my wife has 400,000 miles on back of mine. We ride usually all
summer, to NC coast and all over the southeast.
Can't imagine not having a Harley.
We've crashed twice, not been hurt too bad. (never been killed, though)
Have the Sky Redline as a back-up for rainy time to get out
of these mountains. The Mustang is just for sun..................................:sun:

People think that they're going to get killed on a motorcycle should realize
that when your time is up, it is up.
Doesn't matter if you are on a bike, in a boat or car or on an airplane.

I haven't ridden since 2004/5. Too many close calls. I still love motorcycles. Started riding dirt bikes at 9. The way everyone's looking down at cell phones while driving now there is no way I'd ride a bike. Just watch most drivers eyes, they're down and people didn't see bikes well before cell phones were popular.

I do truly love them. Nothing like riding one, but gotta pass now.
@Shadow277 glad you weren't any earlier.

Thanks for the concern. Everyone is fine and insurance is paying for the drying and a few thousands in repairs since my wife wants to upgrade cabinets and tiles so that's expensive.

I couldn't have said it better myself! I quit riding for those same reasons! Glad the op is still alive and well.

I respectfully disagree. There are measures we can take to increase survival and riding is one that can get people killed a lot easier here.

People think I sound like an old man (I'm 29) but seriously, people are addicted to smart phones. I don't get it. I'd rather be at the track or on my computer simulating track time.
