The GT350R-C is running in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge series which is different than the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (formerly United SportsCar) which the GTs are a part of. The latter formed as part of a merge between Rolex/Grand-Am and ALMS a few years back. They're different series that have somewhat different schedules but both are sanctioned by IMSA and they're often on the same weekends.

It's a different series with different rules/seasons/schedules/costs etc. You don't just randomly go to any race. Ford put their support into the GT for the larger series for obvious reasons. They don't have unlimited budget to support as many cars as they want.

If they really wanted to make GT350R-C to LM spec, they probably could but then you'd probably want to be racing in the European Le Mans series and that doesn't make any sense for a GT350 consider it's only sold in the Americas. But I have no idea what rules they would have to conform to.

CTSC is a different series but it follows the IMSA le man type races during the season

Subscribe to IMSA on youtube and they post the full races eventually. I like how they are open like this to try to attract more to the sport

The lowest class in the 24 hour race is GTD, the GT350R-C s nice and all, but it is not fast enough for GTD.

In 2010 there was a GT3 Mustang that raced raced in the FIA GT3 European Championship. Now I'd like to see a GT350 GT3 in IMSA (GT3 cars are allowed in the GTD class this year)

The Continental Tire series are essentially street cars converted into race cars. Much easier for us to related to what they're driving than the Weather Tech series. Those are basically all tube chassis race cars that are built as race cars from the ground up.
