I got it today for $3.89 and that was cheap compared to what it was a few weeks ago. I paid close to $5 a gallon here in East TN back in the summer.

I have actually used 87 before. I ran it for about a month or two sometime last year so probably 10 or so fill ups. Never noticed a difference daily driving my car. Car was also stock at the time. But I switched back to premium and that’s all I run now.

I usually shop at Costco and just fill up and drive away. I really don't pay attention to the prices. Both the mustang and viper are complete gas hogs, doesn't phase me at all.

However, if you are stressing out over whether the price difference is worth it, maybe this is you:

The gap between premium and regular really pisses me off. For many years, you could count on only a 10 cent upcharge between grades. I.e. if 87 was $1.00, 89 would be $1.10, and premium would be $1.20. So I guess it might be reasonable for them to charge 20 percent more (than 87), but not 30-40% more.

I, too, remember ten cents from grade to grade. Seems like when gas goes way up like that, the spread between the "grades" increases. Then when gas prices come back down, the spread doesn't return to how it was before.

I had a 15 GT PP1 before my 19 GT350R. I ran 87 in that all day. Ford numbers only made like 1 percent more HP on Premium. for 4-5 HP wasn't worth it. I dont have the data or acticle in front of me but I think it was on ford official documentation somewhere.

This is plain nuts, $1 over regular for premium gas. I'll burn 87 octane for a while.

Pffft, out here in the Weimar Repu...*cough* I mean....Washington State we were shelling out 5.50 for REGULAR just a week ago near Seattle.

It's since dropped to a far more reasonable 4.10...70cents of which is a tax that goes to funding diversity hires in vegan plantations where only groups who are not politically sensitive can be use as labor while they kill millions of insects and ground animals to save larger, cuter animals with their electric cruelty-free equipment, which is in-turn sourced from the greenest part of communist China.

I run premium in my gt. It's a few bucks more per fill, no biggie. I don't do it for hp. I do it because I'm a rich prick. I burn stacks of hundreds in my fireplace for heat too... Like Pablo.... Lol. Not really.....

I dunno why I run premium in it. It seems to run better. In my hot rod and boat I run rec gas and that's even more. It saves me a pita later though. I doubt I'd notice the money I saved if I ran 87. I still run Reggie in my pickup....
