To be honest…I wouldn’t change a thing. I special order the car to my liking and then added a few mods.Would’ve liked to have gotten magneride but that option wasn’t a stand alone choice and only included on the Performance Package which I didn’t want.

Two things:

1. I’ll NEVER buy another used Whipple kit again….friend or no friend 😄.

2. I’ll never buy another non active exhaust, or sync 3+ car again.
Active Exhaust is the way to go. No question.

Honestly, I do not plan on doing very much. I upgraded stock pedal covers to the aluminum premium ones from Ford, added the aluminum dead pedal cover from American Muscle. I plan on doing the FP hood struts and catch can. That is it. I may switch out the wheels from the base M1 to the upgraded Y-spokes, not really sure yet. Other than that I think this car is perfect.

My biggest problem is I just get a car where I want it and then I get bored and sell it. Then I have to start over and do a bunch of mods.

I installed coolers into my GT350 and it was working great. I should have kept that car.

One thing I prefer about my current 2017 GT is not having magneride. It's a little better for body control on track, but daily driving I prefer the Ford Performance track handling setup by far. It's a lot less artificial feeling to me. I always got the feeling that the GT350 suspension would hammer the tires into the ground to keep the body more stable, which I guess is the definition of how magneride works. It does what it's supposed to, but the resulting feel leaves something to be desired in my opinion.

The other thing I like is no active exhaust. I'm not sure how the newer active exhaust systems on Mustangs work, but on the GT350 you could have it in quiet mode and the exhaust would open up anyway if you stepped on it too much. If I wanted the car to be loud, I'd put it in loud mode. That was so annoying having to stay out of the throttle if I wanted the exhaust to be quiet. I hope the newer cars don't work that way.

Oh, and to me the MT-82 gearing in my 2017 is a lot better than the gearing in the GT350 Tremec. Good on the road course, but not the greatest for street driving.

I do miss the Voodoo engine and the brakes on the GT350 though. Also, that car with the tech package just felt way more special than my base PP1 GT.

Me too. 300A GT cause I wanted the lightest GT possible. MT82 & Grabber Blue was a must have as well. Other than that I was gonna go FI but I'm having to much fun staying NA.

I should have done rear seat delete. No one over 8 years old can sit back there. I dont regret any mods yet. We will see after i try a switchfire if i wish i hadnt done it.

I’m good with what I have. It’s a pretty awesome car being a Black Premium GT with a stick. Pretty much stock with upgraded exhaust, Radar detector and Dash Cam.

Sometimes I wonder about having the 3.73 rear vs my 3.31 but I didn’t want the Performance Package with the black wheels. I did drive a 3.73 but it didn’t seem like a huge difference. Maybe I just didn’t get it coming from driving a RAV4 and a Cherokee for 20 + years. It is a great cruising car with the 3.31 gears so I’m not crazy over that idea 🙃

I went from 3.31 -> 3.73 & there was a huge difference for the better. Can also ring it out longer in 6th gear as well.

Man I’d love to drive your car and see :sunglasses:

Is 1st gear useless ? I’ve read that from people. ‘
I didn’t think so when I tried it out but I was kinda overwhelmed with driving such a beast coming from Dad SUV land. I think I’d be better defining the difference after owning one for 7 years now … lol

Did you do the gear change and did you have to do something to the speedometer ?

What did something like that cost ?

”ring it out longer in 6th gear‘“. … lol

Just changed the tune to 3.73. Speedo is about 2 km/h out according to GPS.
Gears w/ bearing $200, misc $50 did it myself.

Overall I am still really happy with my car. Sometimes I wish I had bought one with active exhaust but mine does sound really good stock as is too. Pondered the H pipe but decided to leave it alone. I don’t need to impress people with noise the car speaks for itself.

I started to lament my cloth interior over time so this summer I added Katzkins leather with seat heaters and now the interior looks very premium.

My car was purchased off the lot as usual for me as if I see something I like I buy it. I do not have the patience to order and wait - just me.

But honestly I love the car after over 4 years of ownership and I added an 8 year extended warranty so I’m leaving it unmolested drivetrain wise to maintain that. But the temptation to tune is always there I just resist it to not void the warranty I added last year. :)

Even in quiet mode, It will open up at wide Open throttle when you're stock.
But you can change it in HP tuner so that it actually stays quiet in quiet mode. With hp tuners you can tune them to do what you want. But stock you can't.

Did you swap in the torsen (M-4204-MT) also?

I'd be very interested in learning how to do this but having never taken apart a diff before I'm pretty nervous.

No Torsen for me, ever. That swap isn't for the beginner.
