I wish Ford would stop trying to make everything look like a mustang

I get riding the tide, but I think it somewhat dilutes the brand, and is a cheesy move.
I'm sure they are talented enough to be original without having to relegate mustang to a theme.

The problem is, especially in UK/Europe the rest of the cars (except Focus RS) are boring and mundane as hell (diesels with slushmatics and poor styling), so Ford wants to play on the Mustang coolness.

It’s not just ford I think the Malibu and Cruze sort of have Camaro styling in them.

I just think it makes the Mustang homogenized. There was never another car in a Ford show room along with the mustang that looked anything like it.

Doesn't matter. Ford stops making everything but Focus and Mustang after 2019 or 2020. Will be just those two models, trucks and suvs/crossovers. Oh, and of course vans still.

You and me both.......I don't see this ending well.
Quite frankly, Ford should spin off all their SUVs into one division and name it Bronco.

Hey Ford, Mustang is not your brand. It's a model. Build more Ford's not more "flavors" of Mustangs.

I think they should licence the Mustang image as a “style”. You could have a Mustang inspired school bus or dump truck. Think of the possibilities.

Look at this Peugeot the tail lights look like a mustangs and the headlights have the three vertical drls just like a mustang. So annoying seeing crap like that

Not to mention other manufacturers like the new bmw 8 series or whatever that has the same roof line. Or the audi’s with the sequential lights. Nobody was even thinking about sequentials in modern cars till ford did it. Not to mention the amount of aftermarket parts being sold as “mustang style” for other cars.

Before we know it somebodies going to come up with a body kit to make a civic look like a mustang

I agree that the Fusion started the current design
Ford, Chevy, Nissan, etc.. They all want their models to resemble each other
Look at the 1971 Vega to Camaro, the whole Nissan Toyota line
The Mustang design is our contemporary design of the car universe now.
Many other threads have shown how the Germans use same shape.
Just take a look at a 2 door Bentley from the rear.
Sorry but Mustangs are one part of Ford machine, a nice market that soon will dissolve with propulsion changes.
