I wanted a heritage edition until I saw this. Now I can't unsee it.

The first picture has some pretty basic steel wheels on the car. I am glad they upgraded them for the second picture... :sunglasses:
Actually, when those photos were taken 5S003 was the only car completed. To make it look like more than one car had been built, Shelby American installed the steel wheels on one side and the Cragars on the other, at the same time! This can be seen in multiple shots from the first photo shoot:

Before the HEP came out I toyed with the idea of putting vintage style side stripes on my 2017. Photo-shopped the stripes from my 66 onto the 17 but decided to stay away from the front and rear due to the curves and space limitations, and came up with these mock-ups on the door. In the end just decided the "pure" vintage look didn't work but still kicking around some scaled down more modern versions.

I went with the new GT500 style stripes... it kind of broke up the plain look of the side of the car:

I can easily peel off the side stripes... theses are all personal opinion modifications!

When I had my 09 GT500 it was a factory stripe delete. I ended up doing a modified version of the 2010-2014 style side stripes to keep it modern but throwback themed, I wish Ford had done something similar.

With mine being the first “Shelby” I ever owned, I do wish they threw the snake on the sides... even “non” car people know what that cobra means.... I had a guy ask me what 350 means... I feel once you have to start explaining it’s over... oh this is the one with 7something horses? Ehh not really lol... tell you what never mind... I love it though- if the 500 was manual it would have been on the table for me!

Totally agree with the fact if the 500 was manual I'd own it for sure. Instead I build my own version

I had a guy ask me what 350 means...
I had a guy in traffic roll down his window and ask me if the 350 meant the horsepower, or the cubic inches. In my best Homer Simpson voice I thought "Doh!", then I switched to my best Bill Engvall voice and thought "Here's your Sign!".
So I replied "Yes...both."
He returns "Cool", and rolls up his window.

Right now, he is probably sitting at a bar stool arguing with someone saying, "I'm telling ya, I know I'm correct 'cuz the guy that told me that was driving one of them... he should know!"

You should’ve said, “350 volts!”

Luckily I have a vinyl cutter at work.

The car has a white center stripe but I though the black tied the wheels together nicely and was more subtle.

Had to take them off when the car went in for ppf. Probably put them back on, might change the thickness of the lines.

I’ll be honest with you, I don’t have any lower graphics on mine... BUT if I did this exact style would be the ones I would go with ! Take my money!!!!

Looking at it now, I think it would look fine just removing the upper badge. More in line with original that way as well.
Agree. What's worse about the car as-is is that they did, in fact change the stripe script. The original G.T. 350 is written exactly like that - with the periods in the side stripes. On the HEP, they deleted the periods but kept the upright '60s font. Womp womp.

The only problem with removing the gt350 badge from fender is that it has 3 large alignment holes for that little badge! I was sick when I removed mine and found those holes!
Do you or anyone have picture of the alignment holes or a measurement of how far apart they are? I wanted to put GT500 fender badges but was worried that there would be the holes!

IMO this car without stripes is not the same looking. Especially white cars, it's rather looking "naked" without racing stripes. Moreover, side stripes adding pleasant, distinguish look and void emptiness on the side of the car. This is of course personal opinion. First I put the side stripes with "GT350" in the front. But then have it redone putting "GT350" in the back.

I like to disassemble things.

I think the S550 easily has the sharpest curves of any year Mustang and that makes it easy to keep it clean, simple, and stripeless. It also makes the car appear wider from the front or back, dunno if that's a good or bad thing. Regardless, it does look better in certain hues and I think white is one of them.
